It’s recommended by my vet.

“3 different kinds mixed together” – please note that mixing different pellet brands together is not recommended. Good-quality pellet brands are specially formulated w/ their recommended serving sizes based on their nutritional value. There is no need to mix in more. If good quality, they all are providing the same sufficient nutrients and feeding…[Read more]

Right now, the pellets is 3 different kinds mixed together; I’m trying to give the older boys more nutrients. Yes, the buns all live together so if I just leave pellets out, the older boys will eat them.
She prefers playing than eating and of course I can’t exactly stop her from playing. She’ll come running into with the boys, nibble on a few…[Read more]

Lots of mounting is pretty normal at first. Sometimes a bit more pre-bonding helps with this, but it’s a normal part of the process. If he mounts her head, spin him around so he’s over her rear so he doesn’t get a bite to his genitals, or if it’s stressing her out a lot you can gently push him off as was suggested (or if she tries to move away,…[Read more]

For just getting out of the vet and from surgery and now eating hay, it actually sounds like recovery is going really well! So glad to hear.

Hard to say when he’ll stop mounting. Generally you want things to get sorted out between them, but if the submissive rabbit is getting harmed or overly stressed by it, you can try and gently push the humper off. You can also try getting a stunt double (i.e., plushy rabbit) that has the other rabbit’s scent and see if the dominant rabbit can…[Read more]

I would just keep them out and offering and eventually curiosity may set in. Some herbal toppers on the hay may encourage foraging and you can sprinkle some pellets in and see if they start generating interest then.

UPDATE! So her surgery went well. I am currently waiting on the biopsy results from the lab to find out if it’s cancerous or not, but that could take a week or more.
The recovery was a bit rough but I expected it since she never handles going to the vet well (she gets GI stasis every time from the stress) As of right now she’s eating hay so I’m…[Read more]

Ok i just finished the first session I did not use a divider it went ok vanilla was very dominant and would not stop mounting her Katniss was very submissive and scared she did not nip or try to run away I did it in a bathtub because it is a neutral space but the bottom was covered in fleece so they were not sliding around. at what point will he…[Read more]

Are they all together? Or can she be fed separately? Perhaps it is the pellets. I tried one kind with my bun and he wouldn’t touch them. I was like “what rabbit doesn’t want pellets?”. So I tried a different kind and he thought those were great.

Jumping in without context, but if banana won’t do the trick, some rabbits enjoy CC with canned pumpkin mixed in (make sure it’s the 100% pumpkin version; not one with other things added intended for pie or something).

If she doesnt like banana, pear might do the trick 😃 Most baby foods however have banana or mango because naturally sweet, but some have pear too. It varies what fruit a bun really goes for, I have one now who is completely obsessed with apples.
Wonderful that she seems to want pets so soon!

Buns should be drinking water, even if they are eating greens (unless they are eating tons and tons of greens). Often they drink water after they eat hay, how is his hay consumption? You mentioned his poops are small, so maybe he’s not eating enough hay, so his thirst isn’t being triggered? You could try reducing greens to once per day to see if…[Read more]

Thank you so much for your reply! It seems urinary issues seems to be the consensus here. I will absolutely ask my vet about it. Bunny actually didn’t seem to mind the medicating routine, as I would give him a treat right after and the Baytril was cherry-flavored, which he liked. But I think all these vet visits might be getting to him, too. The…[Read more]

Thank for the reply! Interestingly, the vet didn’t seem to catch this as a possible issue when we went. I think he was too focused on treating the snuffles symptoms, which had returned the day before the appointment. 🙁 I’ll absolutely have the vet check for this next time I’m in (which should hopefully be very soon).

Thank you so much for your reply! I’m just getting to this since it’s been a bit of a roller coaster these past few days. I took him to the vet the other day, who basically told me that he’s probably just getting water mostly from his greens (he gets a handful of spring mix around twice a day) which is why he’s not drinking. I briefly told him my…[Read more]

Her name is Angel but we’re thinking of renaming her Thumper because she’s always thumping her feet for more cuddles 🥰
thank you for the advice on the cc!!! We’re going to stop by a purchase some bananas before her vet visit to see if she’ll take them with her cc. She’s not usually a fan of bananas but we’ll try anything at this point.

Ok, I can expand on hay variety. We got a free sample box of a hay mix with flowers and treats mixed in (Grandpa’s Best Small Salad) and she only went for the timothy and orchard hay.
I assume her teeth were checked during her vet exam; my vet observes covid protocols so only pets get brought into the facility. It is possible my older buns’ exams…[Read more]

Interesting! Usually it’s the opposite problem! Since hay is really the most important thing, I wouldn’t worry terribly. You can try giving a wider variety of hays to make sure she’s getting some additional minerals. You might also try offering dried veggies or herbs to see if she will like those, I know some people have good success with dried…[Read more]

When I needed to put a little weight on Walter, I gave him oats, some “homemade” CC (his regular pellets put thru the blender) and a daub of banana baby food. He loved it!
Hope to pics…what’s her name?
My first bun, when I was 6, was a PEW, Tiny Tim. My first piggy was also a PEW, Gina (I couldn’t pronounce Guinea).
