A beautiful tribute to a beautiful bunny. Bun Jovi was well-loved around here. He made it to 14, Dana. You must have been doing something right.
Binky free Bun Jovi! We will miss you!

How is she doing now?
I wanted to add that when my bunny had gas, I would offer him dried willow leaves. They are a natural pain remedy and it seemed he would instinctively eat them, even when he didn’t want to eat other things.

I don’t have any pain meds for her, but if i take her to the vet i will see if i can get some to have on hand if this happens again. she still isnt eating, ive been syringe feeding her and giving simethicone. if she doesnt come out of her hideout in the next hour at 4pm (which is usually when she wakes up from her nap) im going to call some…[Read more]

I’m having a hard time writing this post, but Bun Jovi crossed the Rainbow Bridge on April 14, at age 14. He had been declining for some time, and things had gotten noticeably worse with his respiratory symptoms. The chance of a traumatic passing were increasing to the point where we decided to have the mobile vet come to help him pass. It was…[Read more]

Do you have any pain meds (meloxicam)? I don’t like to give meds without the vet’s instruction, but if she’s had meloxicam before I would be more inclined to give that than metaclopramide, as giving metaclopramide without pain meds can be very painful for the bun as it can cause cramping and could make things worse for her. If you can reasonably…[Read more]

Thanks. Since posting that she’s seeming worse, i cant get her to eat anything now, not even banana and she wont move around unless shes running from me. i just gave her more simethicone and some cc to try to keep her stomach moving. im not sure what else to do for her 🙁 if i can find a vet that will see her today, at what point should i take her…[Read more]

Lovely, lovely Spikey. I’m sure he loved having you there as he passed to the other side of the rainbow bridge– how full of love he must of felt. Binky free, and many hugs to you Pam.

If she is reliably eating/moving around w/ encouragement, you could probably hang off on giving expired meds and work with jutst simethicone (gas drops). Of note, you mention it being morning time, so keep in mind that this may be a time many rabbits aren’t typically active. You can provide some Critical Care for a boost of fiber and nutrients if…[Read more]

Pumpkin has gas again this morning. Ive gotten her to run around a little, and she ate a few pellets and some lettuce. She seems to perk up for a bit, then she gets worse and hides for a while and this just keeps repeating. Ive given her 2 doses of simethicone. I have some leftover metaclopramide from when she went to the vet last in October 2022.…[Read more]

Thank you so much! Is it okay for them to continue using the large room separately until I get them bonded? I just don’t want them all cramped up until they can live together.

Aww how stressful, I’m sorry! Both rabbits have been spayed/neutered, correct? Just checking because that is essential for bonding.
I wouldn’t recommend using any room they have had access to for bonding. With tougher bonds especially, using a space that’s as neuteral and unfamiliar as possible is very important. Even though neither is in the…[Read more]

Spikey has passed away. Our 8th bunniversary would have been May 2nd. He was about 9 years old, since I got him at a rescue. He lost the use of his legs to arthritis and encroaching neurological damage. A (3rd recently) vet visit on friday 4/21/23 decisively bad. I held my boy in my arms as he went.
My heart is broken. I am crying frequently. It…[Read more]

Hi everyone! I have two bunnies who were baby bonded and then unbonded during rabbit puberty. We have been unsuccessful in getting them rebonded, but I will try again starting after exam season, which ends in a month. Since their original fight up to now, they’ve been living in separate enclosures of about 15-20 square feet, and we let them out…[Read more]
