I’m glad to hear Maxwell is doing better. Sometimes all they need is good food and a little love.

If I remember right, the House Rabbit Society had some tutorials. Pretty sure they had a list for a first aid kit and a video of the bunny heimlich.

Tooth grinding can be ambiguous (is it purring? is it frustration? – my bun would do that. is it pain?). But if it’s abnormal for her, then it could be a sign of pain or discomfort.

A nasal discharge, especially one that isn’t clear, is definitely a cause for concern. If it was just something like hay dust causing irritation, it tends to be…[Read more]

Aww, you don’t have to touch his foot. You may end up with a grumpy bunny lol.

I was just wondering if he seemed to favor that paw, like shifted his weight off of it when sitting or overly fussed about with licking and stuff. Those could be signs it was bothering him. 🙂

It sounds like you’re doing all the right things to protect his little feets!

I’ve been too afraid to touch it but I’ll definitely check now . He has a memory foam mat with  fleece blankets over the top as his whole flooring. He does have access to my bathroom too which is hard wood floor, but he barely ever goes in there unless he wants more room to binky. But even then I have memory foam mats in there for him too. Pray…[Read more]

Take your bun to the vet asap with regards to teeth grinding (assuming it’s not the happy type of teeth grinding that may happy when you’re petting bun).

I have to admit, this is an excellent plan! Especially if you do live in an area that is prone to wildfires.

The only thing you might consider adding, if you have room, is something small the buns could chew on. Maybe toilet paper tubes? Or a couple small sturdy bunny chews. That way, they won’t be tempted to chew through the soft sided…[Read more]

I’m glad to hear Maxwell’s overall condition is improving!

It can be hard when you adopt from a rescue or shelter because its not always clear what the bunnies background actually is. Whatever previous environment that led to his poor fur and nutrition is probably what has also impacted his fear of hands and being handled.

    When I’ve had a…[Read more]

I got the WordPress sign in about 2-3 weeks ago. And also just now when trying to log in to reply to this thread. Id stay signed in on the Home page but be automatically logged out once on the forum pages. I was using Safari but needed up trying a different browser and had better luck.

I was filming my bunny eating her veggies and noticed some white snot come out of her nose which she quickly wiped off. This is the first time I’m seeing something like this. She seems to be fine otherwise but I have noticed some teeth grinding since the last few days. Is this the start of snuffles?? What should I do?

I have got 3 pens, well, 3 of everything :). One for each bun and then a third one that’s for the bonding sessions. Less moving things around, especially if it’s going to be a long process.

    Hey all!

Recently I’ve gotten into emergency preparedness. I’m mostly concerned about recent events in the US as well as wildfires.

My first questions are: what should I have in an extensive bunny first aid kit? Are there resources for how to learn basic stuff like wound care or CPR for bunnies? I’m basically trying to prepare for “how to handle…[Read more]

Update to any who are interested:

I use this forum for help as I love the moderators and general suggestions we get, but always forget to update.

Maxwell is still with us! I made a separate post about bonding.

We decided to wait on giving Revolution mostly because we had issues in accessing it near us. His thin fur is definitely just his…[Read more]

    Grade 1 sore hocks

There are creams you can get from vet and also over the counter ones that supposedly helps; never seemed to help my buns but my buns feet never got worse.

Do those spots seem to cause him pain? From the photo, it looks a little pink, but not red or open/sore.

The reason I ask is, I had a mini rex who had a small spot like that on the back of one of her back feet, but never caused her pain and never seemed to cause any issues. It was almost like a calous. She also had lots of soft spots to sit on,…[Read more]

Oh that may be what it is. I can’t really tell either, for some reason I couldn’t get a clear photo of it. But my older rabbit had these before and they turned into really bad sores. I’m not sure how he could have possibly gotten them though. So callus makes a bit more sense haha

It’s hard to tell from the picture. Is there an actual sore? This almost looks like a callus.
