Hey guys! 😀
I was wondering how you guys set up your litterboxes to avoid getting pee stains on your babies’ paws. I usually use litterboxes with grates safe for the paws to bypass this issue (especially since I want to eventually free roam my bun) but she seems to be anti-grate lol. I’ve been finding that she’ll pee ANYWHERE but in her…[Read more]

Is she spayed?
When it comes to bunny speak, context is key. The thumping seems confusing to you because it doesn’t “fit” with the other behaviors. But little thumps combined with binkies can be an expression of excitement.

Aww, poor thing! It’s hard to know if the ear drops are hurting him. Sometimes they just REALLY dislike the feeling of something going in their ear. I agree that high value treats are the way to make it better.

I let my 3 year old female bun, Ruby, out into her outdoor run today. She loves it there! She immediately started binkying then flopped on the ground contentedly. I flopped down next to her (on the other side of the wire) to keep her company and do my homework. She suddenly started to crazily run in circles, binky, make honking noises, and…[Read more]

Poor little guy. And yes to treats! I always reserve the extra special “high value” treats (like tiny pieces of dried strawberries or cranberries) for after particularly hated things, like nail trims or giving meds!

They can really be very difficult!
Putting up a fight is considered a good sign though, a bun that just sits there and takes his meds is a bit of an observandum (unless the bun is a particularly sweet bun or chronically ill. Chronically ill buns eventually learn to take meds and can be quite cooperative after a while).
Poor little guy! Maybe you…[Read more]

I felt so bad 😞
my bunny has hissed at me, growled, lunged at me and bit me the evening that I got him home and had to do a 2nd round of drops. He also got mad at me Sunday. Yesterday was a struggle but today not so bad.
After I give him the drops I give him a treat so that way he will hopefully remember that after he gets his drops he gets a…[Read more] -

I do not blame you for being scared! Your bunny isn’t well and you feel completely helpless. But you are doing what is best and that is keeping her at the vet until she is doing better. I’m glad they decided to begin EC treatment. The stress can absolutely cause an EC flare.

I’m feeling better and better about this tough situation with my boys. I’m now getting letting them free roam together longer and longer three times a day. They follow each other all over and end up flopping somewhere together grooming each other. I’m still supervising when they are out really will and always will since they have this habit of be…[Read more]

It’s great that they listened to you regarding EC and that they are starting treatment!
Also great that kidneys and liver are fine!
I agree it’s best for her to stay at the vets now. We want them home with us of course, but it’s scary and exhausting to sit and watch over a poorly rabbit.
As you know, EC meds often take a while before they kick…[Read more]
