“Hopping and dropping” lol! I love that!

I agree with LBJ, it sounds like the best bet is just going to be damage control until they are old enough to get spayed.

I’ve had good luck with washable pee pads in bunny pens before. Maybe if you notice them favoring particular areas, try some of those (or something similar) there to protect the…[Read more]

Hey, thanks for replying. Yes, Loki was he was different. Yes, I am sure they are both female. I took them to the vet two weeks ago and they were both confirmed female. I agree with the territorial they’re not dumping poops there hopping and dropping. lol   The pee that’s new I put out another litter again since they just want to be near me and…[Read more]

Hi Sarah, I remember Loki. I’m sorry to hear he passed. 🙁

Yeah, so, these new babies are juuuuuust starting to reach bunny puberty. This means things are probably going to get worse before they get better. The pooping and peeing is very likely territorial. The best you can do is put stuff down that is easy to clean. Fleece, reusable pee pads,…[Read more]

Define breathing heavy? Do you have a video?

my bunny has always been breathing heavy and hard even when he’s relaxing, I just don’t think it’s normal. He goes to the vet frequently and they never tell me he has a heart murmur, I’m just hoping there is someone out there who can help me or tell me what they use to calm down their bun.

I know not all hotels accept pets, so it may help to look them up ahead of time. I always use Trivago when we travel to search for hotels because they list rooms from all sorts of sites, so you can see the various price differences all in one place. You could scope ahead for your travel dates at prices and places that accept pets near the halfway…[Read more]

Things happen. An occasional missed cecotrope isn’t a big deal. The concern would be if she was clearly not eating any of them or if she was producing too many and they were getting stuck to her butt. A lone cecotrope on the floor every once in awhile? I would say nothing to worry about.

Gus did a plane ride with me, the same journey I am taking now just backwards, and after awhile he started to eat on the plane – hoping the same will be true for the car ride. Generally, he is a very stressed little guy when it comes to car rides but chills right out as soon as his paws touch solid ground.

Overall, I think you both are right…[Read more]

Hi! So my bun is 4 years old and recently I’ve found two cecotropes left behind that she didn’t eat. The first one was found about a week or so ago after I’d started feeding her parsley occasionally, so I quit that. Then today I found another one. She gets lettuce and cilantro twice a day, pellets, and hay (orchard & Timothy). Also the occas…[Read more]

I’m so sorry to hear about Luna, Azerene (and for seeing this so late).

I remember when you got Apollo and Luna! I’m so glad that you and your husband and Apollo got to enjoy her company all these years. She was such a beautiful girl.

I hope that Apollo is getting along alright on his own, but I know that Luna is deeply missed.

I’m so sorry to see this so late!

Its always such a tough decision, especially when they have strong moments that make us second guess our decisions afterwards. And getting what we know in our head to align with what we feel in our hearts doesn’t happen all at once.

It sounds like Cannoli couldn’t have asked for a better bunny parent! I know you…[Read more]

I have heard of people doing both (trying to stop as little as possible vs. staying at a hotel halfway through). I have never tried this personally. But, from what I have heard, bunnies tend to sleep during long trips. Stress level varies though. Some bunnies start to chill out once they realize ordeal is going to be for an extended period of…[Read more]

I’m sorry you’re having a rough time. I agree that fluffy bunnies can be hard to stay on top of. Some fur types are definitely worse than others.

I always had better luck with smaller trimmers. Ones that are for “personal grooming” on humans work better. I found the ones made for pets to be too large and too loud. The smaller trimmers for people…[Read more]

Fluffy buns can get out of control so quickly, even on a good day!

My old bunny Churro (a Fuzzy Lop) was a constant battle against mats. He was extremely matted when we adopted him (even after the shelter shaved a lot of them) and it was an uphill battle his whole life. I had some luck with grooming scissors (the kind with the little ball at the…[Read more]

    Hello!

Sorry to hear that you have to travel with cats lol! And that you have to make such a long move.

Your plan for Gustavo’s setup sounds pretty solid. It sounds like you have all bases covered!

I made a 17 hour drive with my bun Georgia when she was a baby. I was worried how she would do, but she honestly just slept most of it. When I…[Read more]

I’m sorry you’re gping through a rough time. It’s wonderful that you can deal with your rabbits’ fur and nails now, bc it must mean you’re gaining back some strenght and energy!

For matted fur I’d cut with scissors first. You can hold your fingers as close to the skin as you can and cut “above” them so you don’t risk nicking the skin. It’s obv…[Read more]

I come in need of assistance. My two buns are senior buns now at 12 years old. My girl bun, Meatloaf, is blind now due to what appear to be cataracts and I can’t really handle her much anymore.

I went through a very tough phase of my own with my health and sadly didn’t do my due diligence to maintaining my bunnies’ coats. Loafie’s is much worse…[Read more]

    Hello!

I am moving cross country in about a month, taking my two cats and one rabbit with me.

(Sidenote: in case anyone recalls, I had two bunnies, but my ex and I split and he decided to take Maxwell so it is just Gus now).

I’m looking for any advice at all on how to go about this car ride in the safest way possible. Here is my plan:
