Hi everyone, today I woke up after a night of Louie and Lola free roaming, and when I went to check on their litter boxes and xpen, I found something strange in one of them. I’m concerned and I’ve never seen anything like this in their litter boxes before.

My eyes are a little messed up, but that looks like a mouse or other small rodent to me? If it is, it could have crawled in there and one of the bunnies hit it or something? Or it could have possibly been in the hay?

<p style=”padding-left: 40px;”>It looks fuzzy to me. Is it some kind of small animal that snuck in and died? Or does it look like one of the bunnies fur? Maybe a part of a plushie? I would put gloves on and pick it up to get a closer look. Very strange.</p>

It looks like a mouse. Could it have come with the hay? These things happen occasionally, surprisingly not very often though.

Yes, I looked at it closer and it was a small field mouse. It had seemingly been dead for a while and I buy my hay from a farm so I think it’s was just in the bale when I bought it.

LOL, I was squinting at the picture and I was like “that’s a mouse”!

Yeah, it happens. Rodents, bugs, etc. can get caught up in the baling.
