I’m especially curious about black bunnies, if anyone here has had an older black bun. I rescued my Quincy from a parking lot 4 years ago and I believe she was full grown when I got her, just really skinny and malnourished, so I have no idea how old she actually is. But I feel like I’m noticing small little gray/white hairs popping up that she didn’t have before… I could have just not been paying attention though. I’m starting to wonder if she’s a few years older than I’ve been thinking she is.

So has anyone noticed their older buns getting gray hairs, or what other changes – if any – have you noticed with an aging bun? What age were they when you started noticing the changes?

Hmm, I haven’t noticed anything like that. Changes in body appearance (i.e. not as “full”, but not skin and bones either) and gradual formation of cataracts can be seen in old bunnies. I’m trying to think if I’ve noticed anything else that would be age-related.

My bun Bam got white hairs in his fur his last year with me. Because he was found abandoned, I never knew his age. I had him for 7 years and he was fully adult when I got him, so I’m thinking he got to be at least 9. He was a black lop.
