As some of you might know from my “Hutch Bunny to House Bunny?” thread, yesterday I adopted a 3 year old bunny from a lady who was keeping him in a small outdoor hutch that wasn’t in the best of shape. I brought him home and he is now living comforably in a large enclosure underneath my bed. This adorable bunny, whom I have named Oliver, has slowly been getting accustomed to his new home and is now freely exiting his enclosure to sniff around my room. He is still shy around me but that will come soon enough. He hasn’t used the litterbox yet either, but hopefully he will begin to do that soon too. I’ve even witnessed quite a few binkies and flops already! Anyway, below is a link to my picasa album where you can find a few pictures of him and his enclosure that I built. The previous owner had no idea what breed he is, and I’m not sure either. He looks like he could be a New Zealand mix of some kind. He looks like a New Zealand but has smaller ears. If anyone has any idea what he is I would love to know. This forum has already helped me out a lot being a first time “house rabbit” owner, so Oliver and I will probably be sticking around!

BTW: His eyes aren’t really red, that was just the flash of the camera haha

Aww he looks great! He looks a little nervous, but he isn’t cowering and he doesn’t look like he’s too scared so he must be settling in nicely!

              Welcome!

He’s cute. I think you may be thinking Netherland with the small ears, not New Zealand. I think those most likely he’s a mix which is the best kind of bunny in my opinion. His fur is so sleek and shiny.

I bet he’s happy to be in a safe indoor environment.

I am thinking he may be a mix between a Netherland and  a New Zealand maybe. His body to me looks like a New Zealand but his ears look like Netherland ears. And he is a pretty good sized rabbit so he couldn’t be full Netherland I wouldn’t think. I really don’t have much of a clue though, so I could be very incorrect

Oliver is very cute! Thanks for taking him in and letting him be an indoor bunny.

It looks like the bowls you have for him are plastic. You may want to buy a couple of heavy crockery bowls. Those are the best kinds to use because rabbits can’t turn them over.

Welcome and congrats on the new bun! He is very handsome, and I’m sure he’s enjoying being inside! That looks like a good cage setup with lots of space for him to roam about. You definitely did a great thing. I also love his name =)
