My Silver Marten Elvira is missing a chunk of hair on her back, and i see that there is some kind of bite-looking scar underneath.  well, at least i think it is.  i know my bunnies had a scuffle a few months back and i slightly remember a wound, but i didn’t notice it was this bad.  it’s all closed, no bleeding or sores, but i never noticed this chunk of fur missing before.  i am scared it is some kind of infection or ringworm, but she is not itching and there is no consistent pattern to it that i can see.  and from what i hear ringworm in rabbits isn’t that common.

even if this was a scar, would the hair fall out this late?

should i just keep an eye on it?

        Thanks guys!

It could be a newer bite from a scuffle that you didn’t know about. A surface wound can heal well usually, and you can apply polysporin or neosporin. Feel the wound (with clean hands) is their anything underneath? They can develop abscesses very easily from wounds and they generally need to be surgically removed.

I would take her to a vet for an exam, not an emergency you can likely wait until tomorrow but she should be seen -and seperate the two right away.

now that i think about it…. this fight had to have happened a while ago, because we took her about 3 weeks ago to the vet to get her tooth removed and no one noticed anything.  would an absess still bhe there if there was no “wound” per se?

she is solo.  one of our other bunnies got out and had a scuffle between the bars.  She has no physical contact with any other bunnies.
