i havent has my bunny for long but he already knows “Nova stop it!”… little trouble maker ![]()
what words or sentences do your lagamorphs have figured out? ![]()
Moose knows “Knock it off!” He hears it alot when he starts digging at the carpet
He knows if Mommy says that, he is bad and needs to hide
Monkey knows Dinner, Nom noms, raisin, and her name
Smudge knows dinner. Thats about it.
Squirrel is oblivious still lol.
my bunny is so happy right now, he is a blissful bunny puddle because he went under a table he wasnt supposed to and i said the magical punishment sentence and he listened right away
he jumped into his litter box and hid his face in the corner, i went over there and gave him love, told him its ok and he is so proud of himself my black bunny is practically glowing with pride
If I hear the cat bowls rattle and yell “TOBY, get OUT of there!” I see my little black bunny go flying by.
I think our buns know everything *but* “stop it”…
“NO!”
LOL cute thread.
Huckleberry knows “Dont you do it….” When BF is sleeping, she sits at the bedroom door and digs at it until he wakes up and accidently lets her in, if I yell “Dont you do it…” she shakes her head and bum, turns, looks at me (and grins, I swear) and binkies back to her room.
She knows “talk to me” I think. When I have her sit up, I say “talk to me” and she starts opening and closing her mouth like she is talking really fast. Im not sure if this is just a normal thing they do when they sit up but she doesn’t do it ALL the time, but if I hold out with the treat and say “Talk to me” she will tell me how cute she is and how much she deserves the treat.
And of course, “Raisins”… I might as well change her name to Raisin since its the only word that makes her come to me.
Hodari doesn’t respond to “no,” but I get an immediate response from her when I say “unh huh” instead. Or, “Hey!!!” She usually runs to me when I say: “Come here.” She also seems to recognize the question: “Do you want your salad?” She acts like a little dog, bouncing with joy and scurrying to climb up my pants leg. She doesn’t know her name yet, though; probably because I call her “Booger” and “Cutie Pie” about as often.
How do you know that your buns know these phrases? Is it because you will call their name and they will come? If so, that is super awesome. I call my bunny’s names and they sit like statues.
DammitCharlie’s really smart, I wish I could find time to try and clicker train him. If we’re outside in the yard he knows ‘In’ means jump in the carrier so we can go back in the air conditioning.
When he’s playing ‘chase me’ at night instead of going back into his room I can firmly say ‘that’s enough’ (in a mom’s growl) and he’ll stop and face me and let me toss his fleece over him to scoop him up.
The funniest one is I ask him if he wants to come out of the condo by clapping my hands and doing a sort of ‘come here’ with my hands. He’ll either jump to the top floor so I can reach him easily, or if undecided will turn into a football puddle and let me come after him. If he’s not in the mood he’ll run to the corner he knows I can’t reach, face me, tuck into that football pose and flatten those huge ears.
Peppy will thump at me when I saw “NO”! It’s hilarious…my girly talks back at me
. Actually, for some of the behaviors for which she gets yelled at, she’ll actually thump before she begins, lol.
Hi Peppy !
Naughty Peppy bun!
Frankie definitely knows “No!” and “Hey!!” Hahaha. He’s so funny because he knows when he’s doing something wrong and he’ll be sneaky or cautious.
Example: He knows he isn’t allowed in my mom’s room, but her trash can usually has tasty things. If the door is open and someone is in there, he’ll stop right in the doorway and look at you, knowing he’s not supposed to come in. If you yell at him or say “No, bunny!”, he’ll jump back and run off. If you’re nice and say “Ok, come in,” he’ll do just that.
He’s very good at identifying noises and voice inflections rather than phrases. But he gets his call to come or eat which is “bunny bun!”, he understands “up,” “spin,” and “walk”. Other than that, noises like clicks, kisses, and claps mean different things.
Hannah knows “no” very well – you don’t really have to raise your voice and she usually listens. She likes to explore, but she always listens when you tell her no – after telling her a couple times she doesn’t try it anymore. She comes when called, but she responds more to eye contact and tapping the floor than to her name.
Otto doesn’t know any words. I kind of think he can’t actually distinguish words and he just hears “wah wah wah” like in Peanuts. He should know “up” and “spin”, but I think he just does them both randomly until he gets a reward (and he’s so cute that I feel bad for him).
“MIST-er WOOL-y! NO!” (I usually get a thump in response)
“Leopold! NO!” (I usually get a blank stare)
“Who wants nummies?” (both will come running and they start begging)
“Bed time!” (both will get in the cage, but sometimes it takes the extra enticement of pellets in their dish)
Some more:
“HEY!”
“Kou…cha…” Her ears will perk up.
i dont know if this counts, but im sure he knows what “i luff u!” means
I can say Gabby’s name and whistle a certain way and she will come to the couch and sometimes just up on it for pettings. If I say her name while in the kitchen she always comes running to see what num nums mama will give her.
Dutchess and I have gone beyond words. She digs up the carpet, I turn around, she hears the squeak of my chair and turns to look at me, like “oh CRAP she sees me!”. 9/10 times she leaves her dig spot. ![]()
