I have a nine year old bunny that has free rain if my room. The problem is that won’t pee or poo in her litter tray. She will push the tray out of the way and poo ware it was or she will ignore it and poo next to it. Her litter tray is 38 by 50 cm

Is this a new behavior or has she never been potty trained?

Two things: did you try to move it to where your bunny prefers to go potty?

And since your bunny is getting older, do you think she might be having trouble getting over the sides? I’ve seen pictures of litter trays with a side cut out to accommodate old rabbits. You might give that a try.

She has been jumping over thing that are higher so I don’t think that’s the problem ? and I have put the litter tray in her favourite corner

If she’s never been potty trained she won’t learn simply by leaving the box in her favorite corner. Especially because she’s an older bunny it could take time for her to lose the habit. Pick up her poos and put them in the box, and wipe up any pee with a paper towel and also put them in the box. It could take some time, but eventually she’ll get the hang of it.

You might try restricting her space a little to try to encourage more use of the box. I think that it is easier for them to grasp when its a smaller space, rather than having this big wide open space and 1 litter box. Or you could try getting a second litter box. I have a small apartment but I have a litter tray in my living room and in my bedroom. my bun is free roam of the whole apartment
