Hi,  Nutmeg, my Holland Lop, will not eat the timothy hay anymore.  She wouldn’t touch the hay in her feeding bin, so I took the bin off the wall and put the hay on the floor.  She would not eat it, just pushed all the hay to one corner of her condo.  I have tried different brands of timothy hay, different types of hay and found that she will only eat the alfalfa hay.  She still eats her pellets and greens, just not timothy hay.  Her poop is normal. I don’t know if the alfalfa hay alone tho is enough for her.   Anybody else have this problem or have any suggestions.  Thanks for any help.

Have you tried other kinds of hay such as orchard grass, meadow hay or oat hay? Oat hay is a particular favorite of my rabbits, we get the Oxbow brand

Hi, Thanks for the suggestion Nutmeg was on Oxbow timothy hay.  But I have tried every type of hay that the store had by Oxbow.  I have gone to pet stores and bought whatever different brands and type of hay that they had.  No luck. All she’ll eat is alfalfa.I guess I better check with the vet.

Have you tried sprinkling a bit of the alfalfa over some timothy or orchard grass? If the little bits of alfalfa filter down through the other hay, she might be inclined to eat at least some of the other hays.
