Will neutoring make my bunny less affectionate?

Frank is super cuddly right now. He is always running to me doing the nosy with my licking my hand when I pet him. will it stop when I neutor him? I’m really enjoying the bunny love and I’ll miss it but I understand it’s healthy to neutor.

I can only comment on my own personal experience, but Henry was ignorant to begin with and was ignorant when he came home from being neutered, ha ha ha! But I found by treating him no different, he came good and now we share a loving relationship, on his terms – bugga!
I suppose what I’m trying to say is, it didn’t change Henry! Only time and patience on my end did. And without knowing this for a fact, I believe the same would have happened if he didn’t get neutered.
BUT I HAD to have the procedure done – Henry sprayed! and marked his territory (US) with poop and we didn’t enjoy him the way we can and do now. So, for us, that is a positive that strengthened our relationship. Otherwise I think we would eventually have locked him out of our room – no fun for anyone. Henry is never overly affectionate, but have had licks from him after I give him a good pat. This took place a year after he became a family member, never before. So no, I personally never saw any difference in my boy after his neuter. It all just got better with (lots) time.

PS – Frank is my dog’s name. Such a COOL name!

Bramble was only neutered four weeks ago so things probably haven’t completely settled yet but I can tell you how he has been so far. The first few days he was really tired and just slept, I went through one scary day where I was worried he wasn’t drinking enough but he was fine by the next day. I would say after the first week he started getting back to normal and was paying us a little attention, by the end of week 2 he was pretty much back to his old self. Now he is almost exactly as he was before to be honest, the only major change I have noticed is he now seems to love digging which is something he never did before although I doubt this has anything to do with being neutered. He still gives us the same amount of affection really although he doesn’t really do bunny kisses unless he is in a really good mood but that’s not new for him. he had started to become a bit agitated in some situations before we had him neutered which is why we did it and that has stopped completely so it has definitely been a positive experience for us so far.

Mine stayed just as affectionate, but less romantic. Meaning they still wanted pets, snuggles, kisses…but no longer wanted to bite my ankles and hump my leg, or spray me with Eau de Urine.

Oh Flopsie, your bunny sounds just like mine. haha. At least my two boys like to snuggle.

Bam is cuddlier now than he was pre-neuter. With Yohio I don’t know how cuddly he would’ve been without having been neutered, but he’s a very cuddly bun. I don’t think neutering changes cuddliness exept perhaps for the post-neuter period that lasts a few weeks as the hormones “settle”. I don’t interpret cuddliness in a rabbit as a reproductive behaviour. Bonded bunnies groom each other a lot and the intent is not to procreate.
