Wilbur’s new cage arrived today which I was really excited about..It’s 7 inches longer than his old one and much wider, the older one was fine for when he was smaller but he’s grown so quickly a new cage was definitely in order, though I still think he needs a bit more hopping room so I’m (my boyfriend) building a 2nd floor in it ..What do you guys think?

It’s so nice to see him enjoying his space and stretching out!

Look like he is really digging his new quarters! I love that bunny lounge pose.

How does your bunny do on them hardwood floors? I had to get a big rug for mine to run around on because his nails slip on the hardwood floor and tile and I think it bothers him. He still runs around on it but needs something soft to ‘rest’ on. The slipping is actually kind of funny.

Yeh I think he’s loving it

Yeah he can’t maneuver on them very well at all. I do usually have a rug for him but i’d just swept my floor when I took this so it wasn’t down. He tens to panic a little bit when he slips so he slips even more!

I have one like that, just a size bigger, for my Flemmie Roscoe.  We put some dowels through the bars on that middle cross member, ziptied them down and put a shelf on it.  Hubby had to drill  a hole in each end of the shelf so I could zip tie it down cuz when Roscoe gets snarky, he knocks the shelf off.

Just quick note, though – I notice in your picture that the end piece of the crate with the water bottle on it – the top isn’t pulled all the way to the open locked position in the locking hooks at the top – one bump with a hip or a knee could send it in on top of Wilbur, and actually cause the whole thing to collapse.  Make sure all your sides are locked into the little clips!  That happend to a puppy we had, scared the poor thing to death.  Didn’t hurt him, but could hurt a rabbit as small as Wilbur!!!
