This is mainly an FYI, but also I’m curious on how much the fur will change overtime. Wick is a Vienna marked Netherland Dwarf, black and white. On both his “shoulders”, he is developing brown/orange fur. It’s not as bright as the images if you Google “black and brown rabbit” but it’s definitely the same tint. I wonder if it’ll continue to spread? Anyone heard of a black and brown Vienna marked rabbit?

Bam gets reddish brown fur on the side of his neck/shoulders in the summer. He has no Vienna markings though, his undercoat is grey. I’m acquainted with a lovely bunny girl who’s been all black this winter, but last summer, she looked like this:

She’s a tiny bun, about Wick’s size and about 2 years old.

Oh my goodness o.o if wick ends up looking like that, I’ll be both overjoyed and wildly confused. I’ll need to by seasonal versions of his customized stickers!!

Blue gets white speckles on his lower back/butt in the colder seasons, and this warm season he seems to be getting a very light brown tint on the sides of his thighs and arms (hes blue/grey). Bombur’s black becomes dark brown and his tan becomes almost white (otter nethie) in warmer seasons, back to darker colors in colder seasons. Badger’d tort lightens to the point you almost cant tell hes a tort in the warmer seasons, and in the colder seasons, his tort becomes very very obvious (yellow/grey tort stereotypical dutch markings).

Bun colors change a lot, in my opinion. Its very cool to watch They can also change as the bun ages

I asked a breeder who breeds solid black rabbits on why some solid blacks have brownish fur on them in some areas. He mentioned that it’s something like a “sun tan” and will occur if the rabbit has been exposed to sunlight a lot. I haven’t verified this though.
