She is a one-year old mini lop doe and is still unsprayed (I’m broke from spaying and neutering my other three buns so her big snip has to wait a bit lawl). Anyway, she has thicker fur than all of my other bunnies. It’s a nice soft coat and everything BUT she expels so much fur. Everytime, we hold her or put her down she literally drops fur everywhere. When she walks, she just releases fur wherever she goes. Whenever I have to dust, I always see that only her fur comprises 90% of the dander in my house (IT’S ALWAYS HER HAIR!). It’s hard to keep dealing with the fur problem, especially since my mom is a real neat freak and she’s always on my case about it. Even in the HEPA filter we use, it’s always her fur that’s majority of time in the filter. SO tl;dr she’s way too furry and I would like to know a way to keep her shedding down a bit.
Her lifestyle:
She is fed 1/4 cup of pellets per day with unlimited hay and water.
She is fed about a cup of vegetables a day, mostly romaine lettuce, collard greens, cilantro, and bok choy.
She is groomed once a week using a furminator.
She’s kind of pudgy compared to my other buns. She is about 6 pounds and she hates exercise even when I let her out to run.
Oh and we use a HEPA filter, but although it helps with reducing the fur, that rabbit of mine still sheds too much.
My other three rabbits don’t even produce that much dander. (One is a mini lop, and two-mini rex/mini lo mixes).
What can I do?
