I have 2 top loading carriers, got em from PetCo… one mini one for monkey, and a larger one for when they are bonded and travel together.

Well, I need a few more since I have 3 cats and 3 unbonded bunnies who may at some time need to leave here in a hurry (fire or other disaster) so I guess I’ll start looking for them online. How much were they, do you remember?
Also my nice one has a clasp that won’t stay on now, and I’m constantly worried that when I send a bun in with the hubby, someone’s not going to refasten it properly and the whole thing will come apart at high altitude. o_o

MM, This is the carrier that both Bunnytowne and I bought down here in FL. I love it, though it’s a bit bulky since it’s not soft sided.

But I particularly like the front which also opens if you prefer that, and it has two little dishes in the front that hold water and/or food.

You can take out the dishes without opening the door. So next time we have to go visit or evacuate during hurricane season, she will have a place to stay in her carrier that’s safe for a long time.

I got mine at Petsmart, and paid $60. A year ago when I got her spayed.

not to be patronizing, but after dark the situation really gets touchy for a bunny outside. I don’t know where MJ resides but we have bats here lots of them and night-hunting birds.. I think MJ is one precious bunny and looking at him in the dark, I just want to bring him inside.. LOL, I’m sure that’s what you did corpathina.

petzy, we don’t have too many bats, but i bring him in as soon as the sun sets for fear of racoons and other sorts of louisiana critters that come out of the woods at night. the funny thing about this photo is that it’s not at ALL as dark as it looks in that pic. in fact, the sun was still mid-way through the trees and it was still very light outside. my camera is just a crappy digital camera and it takes terrible pictures if there’s not full lighting.

also, this was a pic from his first time outside, so i let him stay out a little longer due to how happy he was. but now that he goes out more often, i bring him in as soon as the sun sets (which he REALLY disapproves of, might i add).

but don’t worry, i don’t leave him out in the evening. =)

Mimzy used to love going outdoors. I don’t think I’ve taken him out there in over a year now, he got precious little time to be in his Bun-Galow last summer.
These last few summers have been so smoky due to forest fires, I don’t even want to be outdoors, much less bring my bunnies with me. Daughter has absolutely FORBADE Pip be allowed outside, but I think once she realized how nice it was, she’d love it.

We’ll be rebuilding the outdoor bunny run this year to further predator-proof it, and they never go out without human supervision.

That last piccy of MJ….*MELT* I think this has to be my favorite combination…Lop + Lionhead + Harlequin *sigh*

i’m glad you pointed that out, petzy! safety is very, veyr important when letting buns outside.

and yes, we have lots of alligators in louisiana! they usually find their way into just about any small or large body of water. if you’ve got a pond or lake on your property, you can just about bet it’ll have everything from gators, beavers, to water snakes in it. lots of wildlife in louisiana. and i have to correct myself – we do have plenty of bats here, just not really in the area of town where i live.

I am scared of alligators bad. I don’t mind bear country but gators freak me out. So glad we don’t have those here. It was on the news once that an alligator came onto someone’s car port!

I have been lurking for a little while, but I am here and the trio is still evolving! Delilah and Dexter have gotten much closer, Davey and Delilah are still madly in love with eachother, and Dexter and Davey are buddies. Dexter is now the biggest out of the group, so much for “mini” rex…Davey and Delilah are now 2 and Detxer is 1! I can’t believe it! Ok now picture time!!!

Their ears will sometimes lop, especially Delilah’s when she is really relaxed. Sometimes I catch her with one completely down. Davey’s ears will just fall level with the top of his head, they dont go all the way down.

You can always tell Delilah by the white spot on her lips. Dexter looks wilder than ever, is he in an everlasting molt? He looks so… bumpy! Too cute. He is still my favorite. I can’t believe I have four rabbits and none is brown.

The fur on Dexter’s back isn’t the smoothest, he just went through a small molt. His face though is always funny, he has like 6 little cowlicks in the middle of his forhead, all the hair grows into almost like a little swirl Dex is really getting bigger/older, just maturing it seems.

I believe he is part Canadian Plush Lop, also known as Curly Plush Lop. Dexter’s personality, as you have described it, is just like these plush lops. I copied this from wikipedia:

-Canadian “Curly” Plush Lop– There is also a Canadian Plush Lop. Created using Astrex as well as Holland Lop and Mini rex base stock, the Canadian Plush Lop is a curly breed. It has a more fully arched conformation than the other rex lops, is very bold and friendly, and excels at rabbit agility. Dexter is arched more from what I have seen, that’s why he appears so much like a little deer.

Hey guys n buns I’m sorry I’ve been so MIA lately. Monkeybun told me about this thread on facebook so I appeared I’ve been going through a really dreadful process with my divorce that it’s still not finalized, but it will be soon. As soon as it’s all done I think I’m gonna have my strength back and I will be okay again, it’s just been too hard But, I’m not gonna be sad on this post because it’s one of the cutest posts ever, seeing all the bunny pictures made me smile. JG, I just assumed she was a gray rabbit (do they call grays blues in rabbits?) like my other rabbit, Rumple.  I have to figure out how to scan my old pictures (goal for this evening).  But Bindi changes daily – maybe she’s a mood bunny  .  She was all gray because she started out with a hard life and now she is shedding the gray to become the color of yummy chocolate because she is in a happy home.  Don’t mind me, I just got home from work (one weekend a month at the hospital) and I’m a little loopy right now.  

 

P&W, why are bunnies so cute and fluffy if some of them won’t let you snuggle them?  I guess the same reason 18 lb yellow tabbies have soft fluffy bellies that no one is allowed to touch unless you want stitches

Yay, I can scan   This was Rumple at one of my friend’s little girls’ BD Party.  She had a animal theme and there were dogs, a goat, ponies and Rumple.  This is what I thought Bindi was supposed to look like.  

 

Here she is when I first brought her home, kind of scratchy looking pic, but still cute.  For comparison – that is a baby carrot next to her – she was so tiny, but not for long.

Her colouring is very like Bindi’s. It’s nice to have those pics to remember her.

Lucy2bunz – on looks alone I can see some lop in both Lainey and Gulliver. Just body type, ear shape, face shape. But there’s tons of other breeds with that body type too so…? Are they siblings?
Some of Laineys markings look a little of the English spot – so she might have a dash of that there somewhere. The E/spots have butterflied nose, eye patches, check spot, line down the spine and spots either side. Not sure though if these type markings can turn up randomly in other breeds. Rhinlanders and checkerd giants have a similar look in markings.

So no definitive answers from me!! lol I’ve seen pix of a rabbits with a certain look of a breed – but then the parents breeds would be listed and it’s completely different to what you’d guess. So you just never know.

So cute! I agree with Jers that there is definitely some lop in those two. I don’t really think the colors mean anything – many many breeds come in the “broken” pattern, so it really doesn’t indicate ESpot at all.

I’m going to guess a lop mixed with some kind of meat breed. How much do they weigh?
