Should I rub it with wet cloth? I asked my not-so-experienced vet and he said its a wound. It may also be a cataract. Any idea?

Do not rub it with a wet cloth, as that wouldn’t do anything if it’s damage in the eye, and if it’s something on the surface of the eye, your rabbit can groom it out without irritation, while a wet cloth can cause irritation and/or more damage.

It looks quite similar to the white spot Wick has in his eye, which I figure is an accidental hay stab. If it’s a similar wound, I would just continue to monitor. If it changes in appearance, I would recommend going to a rabbit experienced vet to have it looked at, definitely. Wick has had his since he was 12 weeks old, and he’s 1.5 years old now. It has stayed the same and his vet looked at it, saying it was a wound, but nothing that would get worst.

Now I do not know if rabbits with red eyes are more prone to eye problems (like humans with light colored eyes), so I’m curious to see what other users experienced are.

I agree with wick, you really need to see a rabbit savvy vet and have them be the only vet you go to for bunnies( or find other rabbit savvy vets) and they can tell you what to do.

Looks like it’s actually in the eye. Could be a cataract or an injury. E. Cuniculi can also cause white spots on the eyes. Best have a vet look at it.

              Cute bunny!
