  I have a 3 year old rabbit. About a year ago he experienced discharge in his left eye, I had brought him to the vet and was given antibiotic ointment which didn’t do too much. After about another 2 months the other eye began to water. I brought him back into the vet and at this point they suggested I bring him to an eye specialist as there wasn’t much they could do, or I could just leave it because it wasn’t affecting his way of living. I chose to leave it. About 3 weeks ago a white spot appeared on his left eye, it seems to be a mass that’s protruding from the eyeball. I called the eye specialist but I cant get in for about another two weeks. It almost seems to be expanding in size and seems to be irritating because he now repeated tries to clean and rub the eye. Anybody know what this could be?! I’m worried about how much pain he could be in.

  It would be quite painful I suspect, so I suggest seeing regular vet in the meantime for anti inflammatory / pain relief.
  
  Hard to say what it may be really. Maybe an abscess?

  It could be an abscess if your bunny had an unresolved infection. I agree with Jersey.

  I have a set appointment coming up soon to see the eye specialist. Meanwhile I put a warm rag on his eyes twice a day and he seems to like that. I have also been putting the antibiotic ointment from my previous vet visit. If it is an abscess are you aware of what they would do for that?
