Where are my bunny’s whiskers?

Hi every bun!

I’m new to posting here but have found a lot of help on this site and i love the community here!

I adopted my two dutch bunnies from the house rabbit society on January 6th and shortly after I realized Sugar is missing her whiskers :/

Many people say maybe her brother Spice is a whisker nibbler, but I’m really not sure if he is?

Now it’s July and her whiskers still arent growing in.

How long would it normally take to grow in? I hate to think that Spicey is nibbling his sister’s whiskers but I want to do whatever I can to help her grow them back.

The two bunnies get along really well they are a bonded brother and sister but they do have some differences in personality.

Any ideas?

I’ve read a bit about it and it seems to be dominance, like Spice is telling Sugar that he’s the boss. Are they both spayed and neutered? It really depends on the bunny how long it will take to grow back, some will grow faster, others won’t.

Hm they are both spayed and neutered, thanks to the house rabbit society I was able to adopt them that way.

I suppose he is dominate to her, he does tend to eat a little more and sometimes they will take food from eachother while they are eating, even though there is plenty in the bowl! If I catch them doing that I just kinda stop them by just putting my hand between their heads (slowly and gently of course).

She does seem to really want him to groom her sometimes, she will put her little bunny head under him until he grooms her. Not sure what’s going on. I suppose time will tell, she does seem to have stubble, maybe it’s just taking forever to grow back.

I hear rolled oats are good for making bunnies coats nice and shiny, maybe it will help the whiskers grow in too. I need to remember to buy some next time i shop. And yes thank you for the welcome, I’m so glad to be here, just need to upload my profile pic

Yes if they’re growing back I don’t think its too worrying rolled oats aren’t recommended, it’s advised not to give grainy or starchy foods to rabbits. Oats case different effects on different buns, and they can easily give sticky poop if you give too many. If you do choose to give the oats, be very careful of the amount you give and introduce them slowly so the tummy doesn’t get a shock. Your new picture is adorable btw
