Oh my god, I know exactly what you mean by this, though. My boyfriend and my roommates do the same thing all the time.
We have Theodore the bunny, Olive the cat, and Shakti the snake in our house. According to my boyfriend, Olive is an austere Princess (even though she’s a total spaz). My roommate has told us that Shakti is writing an opera. Theodore, on the other hand, is a Duke, and drinks scotch in his free time listening to Shakti compose.
We’ve decided that the three of them have adventures at sea – Theodore is the captain, Olive is just… there, as a Princess, and Shakti is the one in the crow’s nest.

We have three kingdoms in our house. First is the empire of Bunnylonia, ruled by Sir Lionel Parsleymunch Fleecechewer III. His queen, Her Majesty Roxanne Pickybutt rules by his side. They make many important changes to the kingdom each day, including the shifting of misplaced cardboard boxes, and the addition of fur to everything in their territory.
The next kingdom is that of New Guinea(PIG!). This empire is ruled by King Charles the Cuy, with his trusty second-in-command pig,(and War General) Milo. Milo does much of the ruling when Charles is too scared to come out from under the cardboard box. There are also two others in this kingdom, Bean, who is the royal mop, and Midnight, the royal chirper and danger-alerter. Bean and Midnight could move up in power if they wanted to, but they do not care much for power as long as they are fed to their liking.
The last empire is that of Syriaaaaa….nnn… Hamster! This kingdom is ruled by the solitary dictator Stevie. She is a kind dictator, however, and the peasant sunflower seeds have never attempted rebellion.
The three kingdoms battle daily for a larger share of greens.

Lets see. Cotton Boo McChew is the Royal King of Chew. Letters are all for His Royal Chewing. Taken and dashed with
to under the table for private viewing and chewing.
His Highness Bunny Slave Mum is the only one allowed to pet and offer treats that are taken and to feed brush and trim the nails of His Royal McChew. Thus helping His Highness to look presentable. Though His Highness can clean himself to look even better than His Bunny Slave he tolerates the doting brushing of his soft fuzzy coat.
No one else is allowed to pet the royal Cotton Boo McChew. Nor will the Royal Boo McChew take a treat from anyone but His Royal Bunny Slave Mum. Else the Royal Boo McChew will just sniff at it and stare at you like you are daft.
