I have a storage closet a few feet from my bun’s condo. In there I have separate air tight tubs for hay, pellets, and litter. I also have a basket of cleaning supplies including a small broom/dustpan, spray cleaner, a scoop for cleaning out his litter, and paper towels. I have one more basket with toys that I swap out daily, plus things like jute string and scissors that I use to make new toys for him
As for the routine, every morning I clean his litter. I usually dump the entire thing, but if he’s kept his pee to one corner sometimes I can get away with scooping out half and putting some fresh litter in. Then I sweep out his condo (hay and stray poops), change his water, swap out toys, and top up his hay feeder. In the evening I usually just change the water and add more hay.
Once a week I change the blankets on his condo shelves and wash the floor mats.

Oooh litter in a plastic bin by the garbage is a great idea! I may have to steal that
I store all my bunny stuff on top of their hutch (indoors, they are never confined in there but it makes a good bedroom). Every morning clean their litter boxes, usually I can just scoop out the wet litter and replace it with new litter. I do a full box clean at least once a week with vinegar/water mixture. I’ve got a hand-held little vacuum to clean up everyday messes and hay, then I do a full vacuum of the apartment every weekend. Ah the joys of being a bunny slave

You know what, I’d almost forgotten that I have a Shop-Vac in my bathroom closet.
I’ll have to get that out and use it; my pair’s condo is getting to where it really does need a thorough vacuuming. I think I may have to get that carrier first, though; setting up the X-pen can be a bit awkward when you just need to get into the cage for a few minutes. Anyway, I currently keep my bunny supplies in a stack, with the hay bin on bottom (loosely covered to keep airflow going through) and the two extra litterboxes with various supplies atop that. I’m going to have to do some more reorganization in my place to get things stored more efficiently, I can see that. -

Oh great idea! I have a little hand-held vacuum that isn’t being used, I’m going to move it downstairs tonight to keep up with the hay! I’m sure Norman will be less than impressed

I’ve got a Dust Buster too. You know what it is now – I think I’ll use that tonight. I expect Panda and Fernando will be a mite irked, but I’ll move them into the X-pen first. I just hope I have a full charge on the thing…
She gets so mad when it is “invading” her territory that she will run after it and try to bite the end. I have to be careful not to vacuum her up by accident, lol.- You must be logged in to reply to this topic.
