Hi everyone! My baby Bandit had his castration surgery on Thursday and I’m just stressing about what is normal during the healing process. Here is a little background in Bandit:
-Bandit is our rescue boy who we saved in the beginning of December. After a check up at the vet in late December, we found out he is about a year old and that this castration surgery was a must. He had a testicle that never dropped and was up in his abdomen.
Bandit’s surgery went well, except they had to make a second incision into his abdomen in order to take out the second testicle. He was kept at the vet over night, and we picked him up Friday evening. We were also given some pain meds that we are to give once a day.
Now, here are my concerns and I hope it is just me being a nervous first time mommy. His healing seems to be going well, he has been moving around through his cage and in his hallway (doctor said to be concerned only if he stays in 1 corner of the cage). He has been nibbling on his hay, eating his daily salad, drinking water. He has eaten very few pellets though and I feel like he isn’t pooping quiet enough.
Has anyone had a similar experience to how Bandit needed his surgery? Is it normal that he’s been slow with pooping? And slow with his pellet eating?
Thanks in advanced everyone!
