Hi Bumbleberry, I’ve see some of yoru posts, and it seems you are very concerned about your bunny’s emotional well being. It is difficult when we live with our parents, having pets and rules that we wouldn’t choose ourselves. Having a lonely bunny can be stressful for you and the bunny. I think one of myn females gets lonely, because her conded pal isn’t as snuggly as she woudl like him to be. SO I gave her 2 stuffed bunnies to snuggle up to. It helps, although I am currently trying to bond her with my other 2. She won’t die of loneliness, but poor emotional health can be tied to poor physical health. Stress on a bunny often manifests itself in poor gastro functioning. It is often hard to guage just how stressful it is on the bunny.
How much time do you have to spare in the mornings? I find mornign time with my bunnies when I feed them. It isn’t much time int he mornings, it takes me about 20 minutes to get all the animals fed and watered in the mornings before I go to work. Sometimes I have to be at work before 7am. So I get up earlier on those days, so I can still have 20 minutes to feed the animals. (2 dogs, a cat, fish tank, 4 bunnies, and 23 birds). In the evenigns again, I feed the animals, so they are guaranteed to see me twice a day. Perhaps you could establish a twice-a-day feeding schedule to see your bunny more often. You coudl get a stuffed bunny for yoru rabbit to snuggle with. What time f day is her play time? Bunnies are most active first thign in the morning, later in the evening, and in spurts over night. During the day they rest and aren’t very playful. They play in spurts too. Not like dogs, who run all energetically out of a space they have been confined in. Bunnies play, rest, ply rest, etc. So it coudl be that her play time coincides with rest time. It is difficult if you only get 30 minutes a day. Does she have free access to the pen or only during play time? If only during play time – she might enjoy having free access overnight. Perhaps you could open her cage at 5pm when you feed her dinner, spend 30 minutes or so with her, leave her with access to the pen, and in the morning feed her breakfast, and put her back in the cage.
