This is a good general guide to rabbit veggies! http://rabbit.org/suggested-vegetables-and-fruits-for-a-rabbit-diet/

It’s good to introduce new kinds of vegetables slowly to make sure she doesn’t have any bad reactions (gas or sticky poops). Are you feeding her any vegetables currently?

The rule of thumb seems to be about 2 cups of chopped leafy greens, a few tablespoons of starchy vegetable, and a very small amount of fruit per day per 5lbs. We often skip the starchy veggies and sometimes the fruit, but leafy greens are a staple.

For leafy vegetables, personally I feed some combination of: dandelion greens, romaine lettuce, kale, parsley, fennel, spring greens, carrot tops, arugula, mint, basil, dill, or cilantro. I buy 4-5 veggies for the week and rotate which ones I buy/feed. For Thor, who is about 5lbs, I feed her about 2 cups of leafy greens in the evening, which is enough to cover a normal sized dinner plate. I know others feed 2 or even 3 times a day, you can decide what works best for you!

Leafy greens should be fed every day Things like romaine lettuce, coriander, rocket, watercress, spinach, bok choy, spring greens, chicory, mint, dill, thyme, rosemary, basil, red and green leaf lettuce, dandelion greens, carrot greens etc. Fruit is very high in sugar and should be given in moderation.

fruits and carrots are best not to be fed daily because they’re too sugary and caloric. I usually give a piece of carrot a week and a piece of fruit every 20 days.

The base of the diet is leafy greens as it’s already been said, fiber rich greens like fennel and celery are good too.

Carrots and strawberries are high in sugar and should be fed in moderation only! No more than a thumbnail or so a day. I know that seems really small, but rabbits really aren’t equipped to handle a lot of high energy foods. Looking back at some of your old posts, this may be why you are having trouble with Willow’s dirty bum. If rabbits get too much starch (like a whole carrot) or not enough fibre they can get sticky poops and matted fur.

The house rabbit society has some great resources for diet recommendations. Diet should be about 80% unlimited hay, 20% daily leafy greens, and 10% pellet: http://rabbit.org/faq-diet/

I’m sure willow will love the new variety It is so cute to seem them eat salad!

As said before, carrots should be fed in moderation. And strawberries aren’t veggies, they should only be given in small amounts.

How much carrot at a time? A whole carrot? Large? Small?

IMO a baby carrot every 2 weeks is not too much carrot so I wouldn’t worry about that.

She should definitely be getting daily leafy greens though! It is important for their health as they get good vitamins and minerals from the leafy vegetables.
