        Hi everyone,

I’m new here and was just wondering, aside from your bunnies, what other pets do you have? Please post a picture if  possible and tell a bit about them!

I am a 21 year old student in Canada and I absolutely adore all animals! I am a huge dog lover, and frequently visit the dog park with my pup!

I have a dog named Chloe. She is 2.5 year old Shih Tzu that is a total brat but loves my Fuzzy Lop rabbit Freddie She grooms him and cuddles him. Chloe and Freddie live with me in my apartment.

I also have another dog and 2 cats that are my family’s pets. They live with my parents.

The other dog’s name is Bella. She is a 1 year old Golden Retriever that is a crazy but very cute!

The cats are Lola and Sadie. Lola is a 4 year old grey and white longhaired domestic that was a rescue as a kitten. She is a giant furball and very talkative and sweet.

Sadie is a 3 month old kitten that is Chloe’s best buddy. Lola is not too fond of her yet.

I also hope to get another bunny soon!

I am looking forward to hearing about your fur family!!

I have a boyfriend, who makes more mess than all the pets put together… and a cockatiel and two rabbits.

Haha, yes I guess I should add: I have two rabbits and one boyfriend, who by the way is infinitely more trained than previous boyfriend- better litter habits and overall cleaner. Bahahaha.

I also have a cat that lives at my parents house. This is him:
He decided that racing stripes were “in” this season and took the liberty of plucking out his own hair.

I have a zoo here at my house. I have my one bunny Gabby who we just adopted back in March. I also have 2 dogs, 1 cat, 4 guinea pigs, 4 pet mice, 29 birds and 1 female betta fish. My husband is not an animal person but can you tell who wears the boss in our family?

I also have a zoo. 1 rabbit, 1 dog, 5 cats, 1 snake, 5 geckos. It used to be bigger, but we have gone through some losses over the past year.

Joyfull- what kind of snake do you have? We have a ball python that is about 3 1/2 feet long and a central american boa. I generally love snakes but with my boys, I’m terrified of them getting out! Haha

That’s great guys! I don’t have a husband creature yet but any guys I date should at least tolerate pets as I tend to have zoos as well! I used to have 2 rabbits, 3 hamsters, 1 dog, 2 guinea pigs & a roommate with 2 guinea pigs and a dog. It was so much fun, I love being surrounded by critters! They have since passed on but now just 1 dog and a rabbit ha! Probably a record low for me.

Here is my little girl Chloe, she is my world!:

                        Not the best picture…

Aside from Jack and Bunny, we have three cats, a dog, and I have two tarantulas (everyone else just pretends they don’t exist)

Bubba is a handsome pug () He had major issues as a puppy (backyard breeding) and was a runt and came super close to dying, so he’ been stunted and is super tiny, compared to most pugs.  Annie is out three legged wonder, she almost died too because of a horrible infection as a kitten. Kirby is our ragdoll, he thinks he is a dog and likes going on car rides and walks… he’s the best cat in the whole world. The things he puts up with are incredible  And then Tucker is out silly, skittish stray cat who is an absolute love (if he likes you)

They all get along with the rabbits too! Annie will snuggle with Bunny, but her licks sometimes turn into nibbles and I freak out, and Bunny has always been infatuated with Kirby…but he won’t have anything to do with her. And then Bubba and Jack will sometimes chase each other around, it’s so cute! I should try and get it on tape someday!

Some of my babies have health or disability problems too. One of my lovebirds came to me with severely splayed legs. They are so bad it looks like she’s doing the splits and cannot walk at all. She is madly in love with another lovebird I adopted and she can fly really well and gets around good. She’s very cage aggressive but her mama still loves her.

Three of my parakeets came to me with deformed feet but with some help, learned to walk upright and two can fly really well. The smallest one had his wings clipped too young and I’m affraid he may never be able to fly. He is in love with another parakeet and can climb the cage really well.

Another parakeet and one of my cockatiels cannot fly. I believe one is due to never being out of her cage until coming to live with me. I think the other may be a physical problem with her wing.

I don’t like buying animals from pet stores but came upon a baby zebra finch and I thought he was splay legged. I talked the store manager to give him to me at cost and when I took him to my vet found out he had a severely broken leg and his only chance was to amputate it. I decided to have the surgery and he recovered well and is happily in love with a little female zebra finch. His name is Happy since he was such a trooper thru the ordeal.

One of my guinea pigs came to me with a chronic eye/nasal problem and with xrays learned his face was most likely broken at one time. He has to have eye drops 3-4 times daily and he is now having to be handfed 3 times a day to keep some weight on him. Another of my guinea pigs had to have an eye removed due to a fight with another guinea pig. He is healed up now and good as ever.

Oh, and shortly after bringing home a young female betta her eye was suddenly gone. She is okay now with only one and seems to be thriving.

So, long story short, if an animal is disabled it usually winds up at my house.

JackandBunny: Your pets are adorable. I love watching animals interact Your pug is precious, gotta love that face! And your kitties are so cute!
BrittBritt: That is so sad! I hate how pet stores can sell such sick animals I try to never buy from them either but sometimes you can’t leave them behind

                                Hi, BrittanyandFreddie…**Waves**

I’m from Canada too and also love all animals. What part of Canada are you from, if you don’t mind my asking? I’m from Beautiful New Brunswick.

Your little dog is very cute. I had a Shih-Tzu named Beatrice for 16 years but she stayed with my parents when I moved out. She died a few years ago and I miss her very much. She was a wonderful little dog and absolutely adored little critters. She loved hamsters, rabbits and guinea pigs and in the summer I would put my 2 guinea pigs out in the yard on their harnesses and she would sit and guard them. If they moved too far away from her, she would get up and go lay down beside them. It was really adorable.

My 3 favorite animals are bunnies, horses and cats and I feel very fortunate to be able to share my life with all of them.

Andy, he’s a real cuddlebug. He’s 10 and having some problems with hyperthyroidism that we are treating.

Mystee, our senior cat who is 13 or 14. We got Mystee after my bf’s sister couldn’t keep her anymore due to traveling so much. She found Mystee late one night as a tiny kitten in a taped-up box in a cemetary. I don’t want to know why she was there but thankfully she was saved from whoever did that to her. She’s Ricky’s cat. She follows him everywhere he goes and around supper-time waits at the door for him to get home from work.

Savana aka The Kitten (even though she’s 4, she’s the last kitten we got). I LOVE tabbies!

And my beloved horse Winnie. She’s a 10 year old Morgan that I’ve had since she was a foal. I got to witness her birth which is pretty cool.

None for me! We got bunnies in our apartment because we couldn’t get a dog. We’ve moving to a house this summer and we’ll probably get a brittany spaniel sometime next year. I’ve had a lot of gerbils in my life and had two when I moved out here from college, then got three more after one died (didn’t bond them to my remaining girl). The last one passed away about a year and a half ago.

I am from Ontario! I love NB though, we go to New Brunswick and PEI every other year as a family! What a great country we have

Shih Tzu dogs are such silly critters. My Chloe makes me laugh every day. Your dog sounds like she was hilarious too, I love how they seem to like babying small critters!

LPT I didn’t know you had Winnie since she was a foal!! OMG That’s awesome!! I hope to be adding my own horse story in a thread like this within a year…*le sigh*

Ok some of you put my ‘zoo’ to shame!! LOL I have two piggies (buggers I tell ya) a dog (who is the best dog in the whole wide world, really incredible but also neurotic and has severe phobia’s-he came with a lot of behavioral issues but with works has turned out to be fantastic wonderful awesome with a few things we are still working on) and a male betta.
I’m hoping to add a horse (My very FIRST one), another dog (will have to be a puppy given Mikey’s personality and will have to be some kind of disabled rescue given what Dave and I would like-hard to choose if we’d want blind or deaf…)and another pair of buns in the next three years. We’ll see.

I’ve never been as far as Vancouver but I hear it’s gorgeous. Calgary is as far West as I’ve been so far.

Mossling- Your ratties are so adorable!!! Great pics of them.

K&K- Are you planning on getting property so you can keep your horse at your own place? That’s still my dream: to keep my horse at my own hobby farm. Although, unless I win the lottery, it would mean giving up my boarding barn’s big indoor arena. Not sure I’m willing to do that anytime soon.  ps. Get a Morgan!

                                                      LOVE everyones animals

MonkeyBun I’m from BC to! lol way up north though, in Prince George.

I’m jealous of everyones zoos! It’s funny because most people think my house is a zoo

I used to have a chow/lab cross named Rocky who was the absolute love of my life. I could talk about him for days. He was 4 when I was born and he was a month from his 18th birthday when we had to let him go.

About 6 months later me and my mom went to a local pet store to buy cat food and found Bruno. This was before I knew anything about pet stores but bruno was the last one left of his litter and a lil floof man. I picked him up and never put him back down until we got him home We were told he was a purebred Shih Tzu, 20 pounds later he is really A Lhasa Apso cross haha. We also found out later that he came from a puppy mill, so he has rotational deformities in his front legs. it doesn’t slow him at all, but later in life if may pose a problem. We’re praying it doesn’t because the surgery costs almost 4 thousand a leg, doesn’t have a very large success rate, and the closest place it can be done is in Calgary. He is 7 now.

When Bruno was 3 we decided to get him a friend, or what turned out to be his new boss There was an add in the paper for a Peeka-Poo so my mom went to view her ( without me, because she knew I would be coming home with her no matter what   and finds this terrier cross :| Super hyper and Tinkerbelle lived at a daycare and the woman was letting the kids grab her and jump all over her. So we decided to take her home for a weekend trial. Once home we realised she was SEVERELY abused. There was no going back for her. We would walk by her to fast and she would cower and pee and if I tried to nudge her out of the way with my foot she would cower and shriek. When my mom called her former owner to tell her we would keep her the woman started crying saying thanks, because her husband was planning on killing her at the end of the week! Best decision we have ever made. A year and half after we got her, my mom was throwing a ball for her and all of a sudden she was screaming (worst sound I have ever heard). When we ran over to her, she was paralysed half way down her body and had lost control of her bowels. We rushed her into the clinic on emergency and the vet (my now boss ) said she had slipped a disc. Upon further examination he said she has multiple herniated discs in her spine and this could happen again at any time. He was able to pop the one back and after a week she gained her mobility back. We were supposed to not let her go up and down stairs, up on couches or beds, no toys, or running for the rest of her life After 4 months of the most unhappy dog of all time, we decided quality of life vs. possibly a longer life was better. She has been fine since, but she is on syn-flex to help make her less sore. She is 6 now.

When I was 7 my parents gave me a kitten for my birthday  They made me do EVERYTHING, and I’m glad they did. Her name is Princess Mew, but called Kitty. When I turned 8 I realised how stupid that name was haha. She is a grey DLH and is 14 years old. She has had no major health issues yet, knock on wood. For the first two years of her life she would throw up immediately after eating about 50% of the time. She was losing weight and we were really scared. After trying a million different foods, vets, and tests. A new vet diagnosed a seafood allergy of all things!! She hasn’t had more than hairballs since! It is a pain in the butt though, EVERYTHING has fish in it haha, she can’t even have it if fish oil is in the first 5 ingredients.

I’ve always had fish and I love them to death I have had 2 hamsters, who are both buried in my back yard

and everyone knows about Tait already!

sorry about writing a novel 😐

                                                      Bruno & Tinkerbelle

Princess Mew aka, Kitty. You can see Tinks hair on the side haha

                                                      Her favourite hang out spot

This is Mex, one of my male bettas. He has a ten gallon to himself.

My 25 Gallon community. There are Platys, Danios, Neon Tetras, and a Common Pleco. I recently added my white Betta, Angellus, into this tank because he wasn’t very territorial and he has been doing great you can see him on the right side.

Besides the 2 bunnies I have 5 guinea pigs, 2 rats, 3 cats, 2 ferret and a dog.

Ty just turned 10. Neko is around 3 and Chewy is around 1. Ty is my fatty cat but he has lost 6 pounds since those pictures. Neko is my butthead kitty. She hates being held. She will growl when someone holds her. But she does love to be petted sometimes. Chewy is the newest. I got him maybe a month ago. He is the sweetest kitty ever. He loves people but unfortunately he likes to chase Minnie so he is banned form my room.

They are all around 3 years. All females. They are all super sweet and cuddly (well Muki is not that cuddly). They make the cutest noises. Whenever I walk in my room they wheek for veggies. A few night ago I got to hear one of them (I don tknow who it was) chirping. Their cute noises always make me laugh.

Hershey is around 2.5 years. Snickers is maybe around 1.5 years. Both rats only like me. They bite (not hard bites though) anyone else who tries to pet them lol. They are both lazy man rats. All they do is sleep and eat. Even during floor time they dont do much.

Rikku is maybe around 5 years. Risa is around 2 years. They are super playful. During out of cage time they do their weasel war dance and dook. No one can wear socks around them because they will attack your feet if you are wearing socks.

He is 10 years old. He is my first puppy. Hes a really laid back and kind of lazy dog maybe because hes older. He loves car rides more than anything. He knowes when someone is about to leave and he goes and waites by the door hoping to go for a ride.

The first pic is of my cat, Samson. He was living on the street in Rochester NY before we got him. A good samaritan took him to our vet after Samson was hit by a car. No one knew who he belonged to, so our vet asked us if we’d take him. The last pic is of Samson’s best friend, Tillie. She has been with us most of her life. She’s now, or soon will be, 13 years old. She still plays like a kitten every day, though, and has more energy than Samson, who is six. My dog is a nine year old German Shepherd/Husky mix. His name is Heinrich. He is asking me for his dinner as I type, so I need to get this posted so I can feed him! P.S. Please ignore the dirty towels in the first pic. When an animal does something cute, I just reach for the camera and don’t notice the eyesores in the frame. Lol.

The smallest property we are looking at is big enough in current zoning in it’s area to keep horses so although this will probably be next spring or summer, I’m still getting excited

K&K, you know we still haven’t met this 2nd piggy yet…

                                                                    Oi-you make a woman work!

I have ONE fuzzy ipod picture uploaded lol -I still haven’t uploaded any of the vacation pics from the underwater camera or may long or…gosh I’m such a procrastinator….I have four photobucket accounts that are full and unorganized but I FOUND it!! Here you go

                                                                    Rocky

I have to drive almost 20 minutes to get to my barn but it’s worth it for the great price and wonderful facility. We came really close to buying a small hobby farm a couple of years ago. We had it inspected and I was super excited but turned out the horse barn was full of mold and would have cost too much to rebuild it as well as some other problems the house had, so we had to pass it up. I was heartbroken. Especially since it was on a road called “Lapin Road” (Lapin means Rabbit for those non-francophones ). And the few times we had gone to view the place there was a wild rabbit who came right up to us. Seemed like the place was made for me…sigh…
