What Kind Do U Think She Is

Can anyone tell me what kind of Rabbit my girl Pia is.  She came off Craigslist.  Folks claim they were finding a home for her for a friend.  They kept saying he.  I check her out and told them their he was a she.  They could not answer any questions, age, sex, type, totally uninformed and none the concerned for her care.  While in their care for several months, mid summer, she was in a 2×3’ dog crate, outside under a tree.  I felt so sorry for her I was going to take her regardless. Vet guessed her age at 5.  She is the real lady of the group, uses her potty box 100% of the time, love to be petted but not necessarily picked up even though she doesn’t kick or resist, but you can tell she’s not happy about it. 

My buns have patio rights in good weather, which is where this was taken today.

So from ya’ll educated guess, what do you think she is?

She’s pretty. Some kind of lop mix.

Looks like a mini lop with ear control or a lop mix. About how much does she weight? If she’s smaller than she looks, she could be a holland instead of a mini lop. Very cute! So great that you rescued her.

she weighs 6lb 8oz..  She can stand both ears in attention and both usually  flop when asleep, but in general they are as you see here.

If she’s that big, then I would say definitely mini lop or a mix of mini lop and something else. Her body shape and head look like mini lop, so she could be purebred and just have very good ear control.

I love her color! Reminds me of the color of JerseyGirl’s Jersey.

I definitely can see the similarity to Jersey Lazee. In colouring obviously but also the headshape.

I agree with her being lop at least in part. Very possible she’s full mini lop too as Elrohwen suggests.

thanks, being new to this rabbit thing I’m not up on breeds. the word mini says small to me and she is not small in my opinion, so I’m surprised. All my girls came from less than desirable to horrid conditions and are now living the life of Riley.

Yeah, the mini lop thing is kind of a misnomer since holland lops are actually the smallest lop breed. Minis are generally 4.5-6.5lbs I think, though of course don’t always meet the breed standard.

She is adorable!!! I want to snuggle with her. And I agree, she looks like a mini lop…She may not look “mini”, but compared to my 14 pound lop, she is definitely mini.

She does look more like a mini lop than a Holland IMO. My more is either a mini lop or mini lop mix, and he has a lot of ear control.
