Dream Home?
Dream Car?
Dream Vacation?
Ohhh this is fun
Dream Job- known photographer
Either for fashion or events
Dream home- one with a teleporter so I can visit both sides of the country daily :/ Outside that, a 1 level home with a man room for my hub and an indoor heated barn for a horse and my projects
Dream car- hmmm. I’m not really a car person. Something big and safe that parallel parks itself
Dream vacation- I want to go to Sweden and stay in the ice hotel-http://www.icehotel.com/
A Medical field job of some sort
As for a dream home, anything 2 stories, modern designed home. Spacious bedrooms for myself and bun(nies).
Dream car is.. a boxy car. I really like Scion boxy cars
Comfortable.
Vacation would be Japan.
Dream Job: Running a no-kill shelter/rescue
Dream Home: A two story victorian on a very large plot of land, with a spacious heated barn for horses and plenty of room for all the fosters.
Dream Car: Something that doesn’t run on gasoline lol or that gets stupidly high MPG
Vacation: To go back to Europe and see my friends over there. I got to go when I was 15 and love it.
Dream Job- Opening a rescue dedicate to mostly abused Bully breeds/Pit Bulls and past fighting dogs, where I’ll also open shelter dog service programs education programs, and other similar things.
Dream Home- Oddly, don’t really have one. Just somewhere I can have Pits and in Cal.
Dream Car- 64′ convertible Bug.
Dream Vacation- Hawii.
Dream Job: Designing jewelry, of course.
Dream home: A 2 story with full finished basement with a large kitchen, 2+ baths, 4+ beds, large garage, a game room with a bar, and a separate building made for fostering buns complete with a kitchen/bathroom for all their bunny needs
Dream Car: Currently, a Subaru WRX STi, or a BMW M6 in either a dark purple green or blue. I’d settle for another M3 though
Dream Vacation: A trip around the world to visit as many countries that I could ![]()
Dream job – I’d love to design wedding dresses – kind of addicted to “Say Yes to the Dress” but the thing is I don’t sew and I can’t draw, also can’t seem to cut anything straight across…so it will only ever be a dream. Probably if I actually had this job though, I’d hate it because you hear all the bridezilla stories LOL. Still I love to look at wedding dresses. I remember when I was little my mom let me try on her wedding dress – it was a copy of Princess Margaret’s wedding dress and probably a size 0 – very elegant. I never had a wedding dress though and sure as heck would never wear one now.
Dream home – I’m kind of like the living small idea – you know those tiny houses. Maybe when I have no animals, I’ll look into it. I like the minimalistic idea and the small cozy spaces and multifunction…of course I may really hate it if I did try it, but love the idea. My home right now is modest – it’s a townhome with 1600 square feet which is really a comfortable size but it’s still alot to clean. I love my house though although it does have some issues but at least now the roof doesn’t leak LOL.
Dream car – I love my Honda Accord so I think I’d just stay with that.
Dream Vacation – I would love to go to Eastern Europe. The furthest East I’ve been was Prague and Hungary – I’d like to spend more time in that region of Europe and then further East eventually up to the Northern and Central Asian – maybe take the Trans Siberian Train through Siberia.
Fun question!
Dream Job: Something working with animals, especially horses, would be pretty awesome. More than that I’d like to work part time and make lots of money – anything gets old (to me at least) when it’s a 40 hour a week job even if it’s something I love.
Dream Home: Kind of similar to what we have now, a moderately sized Colonial type house, though I’d love it to be really super nice inside (new kitchen, beautiful floors, beautiful bathrooms, etc). I like that we have land but it would be even better if it was more rolling fields instead of woods so I could have horses (a big barn and riding ring would be nice too). I’d love to have it professionally decorated in just my style – I love beautiful homes and even with a lot of money I wouldn’t be able to pull it off on my own.
Dream Car: I really like Mini Coopers! I’ve really considered getting one for my next car, but they’re a bit more than I’d like to spend and the reliability is low, so I probably won’t and will end up with another Honda.
Dream Vacation: I want to go all around Europe, specifically Portugal, Spain, and France, and then a separate trip to all over the places in Britian (including Ireland). I’ve actually been to all of these places for short periods of time, but I’d love to spend way more time and visit way more places in each country. I’ve always been an Anglophile and my one short trip there just made me want to go back.
Dream Job_ my ULTIMATE dream job is to become a doctor… but a more realistic one is to be a Physicians Assistant
Dream Home_ a nice, spacious but not-too-big 3br (master, guest/baby, buns) 2.5ba with a large kitchen with ample counter space for my kitchenaid mixer, and an island in the middle! Also needs to have nice large, pop-out bay windows with window seats for reading, and a craft/library room. Porch out in the front and a nice backyard perfect for tea parties during the spring and BBQs during the summer. Walk in closet is a must.
but the “right now” dream home is a old style apt in NYC with cute wallpaper. small & cozy, at least 2 rooms, one for me and one for the buns, and a not too small kitchen
both dream houses will be bug & spider free. = ULTIMATE DREAM
Dream Car_ dont have a ~dream car, as long as it looks nice and runs! Teslas make some pretty sexy electric cars though.. maybe one of those.
Dream Vacation_ europe for a few weeks, go to France, Rome, Greece, England… then off to Hawaii to relax from all the sightseeing in Europe ![]()
Dream Job: An exotic veterinarian, vet tech, or to run a animal shelter.
Dream Home: I think my dream home is what we are building this summer (so excited)
Dream Car? Not big into cars, Whatever gets me where I need to go,
Dream Vacation? I Want to go to England with my dad sometime. My dad has been there quite a few times and I would love to go with him.
erlohwen, both my parents own and drive mini coopers. My mom was the first off the assembly line of that model and that’s why it has engine issues but my dad’s is an ’01 and is still doing great. Although he’s mod it all up and even has those neon lights under it :/
Dream job: Teaching cosmetology and making good money doing it. Maybe owning a cosmetology supply chain store too would be fun.
Dream House: 3+ bedrooms. No stairs- either have an elevator or all be on one level (stairs are my enemy). And at least 2 bedrooms. I would like quite a bit of land and several guess houses. One for actual guest the other for rescued animals
. AND a pool! I had one growing up and I miss it tons. And the last touch is a porch swing on a wrap around porch. I’ve loved porch swings since i was a baby.
Dream car: 2007 Thunderbird in sea-foam green. But that’s my impractical choice. My practical choice would be an 07+ Ford hybrid escape. I have an ’01 and love it but wish it was more gas efficient.
Dream Vacation: Somewhere tropical (not during hurricane season) and stay in one of these types of things http://www.overwaterbungalows.net/
Oh fun. Good idea Sarita.
Dream Job? – Owner and manager of a horse boarding facility.
Dream Home? – An apartment attached to a horse barn, so that I can peek out a window of my apartment and ALWAYS see a horse.
At least 2 bedrooms, so I could have a bunny room. 5-10 acres would be ideal.
Dream Car? – Honda Civic del Sol, most definitely. In green.

Dream Vacation? – I’m a homebody, so I’m not really the vacationing type. ![]()
So your dream vacation is another dream home exactly the same in maybe a different location so you can go between? ![]()

Haha, that would be good!
.
Maybe a winter log cabin in Northern Michigan or something. ![]()
I’ve always wondered how people can make money boarding or training horses, just not something I really understand. My husband’s neice is a horse trainer, this is where she works:
http://www.haras-national-du-pin.com/index.php
I still don’t know really what she does – maybe trains people to ride or do agility…I really have no idea. So I guess there are jobs working with horses.
i kinda lucked out with the dream job of growing my own business.
in turn, that took care of the home (getting the hell out of chicago and into the desert) and car, but it completely rules out any vacations.
I put in WAY more than a 5 day, 40 hour workweek. even weekends have to be pretty much fly-by-wire.
which reminds me,, i still want to get another
as its now been a decade since i sold mine

It’s really hard to make money in the horse industry. That’s why it’d be a dream job for me, not a reality. ![]()

Sarita, the money isn’t good, but it’s possible to do it for a living. Generally, in the places I’ve ridden, someone trains horses (for whatever sport, in my case jumping and dressage), trains riders (teaching them to ride better – lessons here are a minimum of $50 a half hour, so there’s some money there for sure, especially if you don’t have a string of lesson horses to care for and the riders bring their own horses). Most seem to train horses and riders and will travel to shows with them to make sure they do the best they can, etc.
There are also people who are barn managers and make sure all of the horses on the property have food, farrier and vet care, etc and take care of the money that comes in from training and lessons – they’re really like the business managers that keep the whole operation running.
Really very little money in it unless you start working with really high end horses and riders who will pay a lot of money for a top trainer, but there are plenty of people who do it for a living. Btw, the place your neice works looks absolutely beautiful! Now working in a place like that could definitely be my dream job.
Frankie, my friend and his wife have Coopers – she has the two door and he just got a four door this year. They loooove them, but I still worry about reliability. I used to say I wouldn’t get one because of the two doors (I would be ok with it at first, but it would get old once I have a kid, dogs, etc). Now that they have the four door I have less of an excuse, except that I’m a cheapskate 😛
Dream job: Something in the medical field, thinking about an equine or small animal vet. Or own a stable with my sister lol (and a cupcake shop on the side).
Dream home: A super super old victorian home on a farm, very detailed and pretty. Cool attic and staircase is a must. Tons of land and super private with a big old white stable. Like mile long driveway hidden in the woods somewhere like Montana, Canada or New Zealand. I care more about the land than the house though.
Dream car: Hmm I really don’t know much about cars
Dream vacation: I like going up north to a cabin. I’ve also always wanted to go to Africa
Dream Job: Something that has to do with environmental advocacy and conservation, working with people and really making a difference.
Dream Home: I really want something that has lots of storage, our house has nowhere to put anything. I want a house that is more efficient with good windows that don’t sweat in the winter and insulation in the walls instead of dead air space (we have a brick house). Something that has an appropriate room for the rabbits to live in where they can’t destroy stuff. LOL
Dream Car: I had really wanted a Prius, but now I’m thinking maybe a Chevy Volt.
Dream Vacation: I love Hawaii, but I would like to visit Europe someday too. Really I would like to travel all over the world. Wish I could.
Sarita, the stable I go to the main owner (the husband) buys and sells horses (there’s a horse going for $50,000 at the barn right now
), some of them he trains first. All sport horses. Also boards, leases, share boards and teaches lessons (his wife teaches too). Not sure how much they make but they seem to be pretty well off. He works as a firefighter and gets insurance through that.
bunnniee- I live in MI and cabins up north are definitely worth it. (At least for the summer for me, but if you’re a snowmobiler, winter is fun too) My grandparents live up there in Indian River and it’s so pretty and just smells different.
And wow are horses expensive. Makes me glad I’m allergic, otherwise I’d want one too!
You can get horses for very little (though of course it still costs money to keep them) or you can get a horse for $100k. All depends on the horse! Haha.
And I love northern MI! I grew up going to my grandma’s cabin on Lake Superior. My dad grew up in the Soo and my grandma and uncle still live there (year round too, though my grandma lives in town now instead of on the lake).
Elrohwen have you ever been to Pictured Rocks? My family goes there every year, it’s absolutely beautiful.
FrankieFlash: Yeah horses can get pretty expensive, based on look and how much training they have and blahblahblah. But you can get a great horse for waaaaaay less than that.
Horses vary – you can even adopt them for only a few hundred, but they are EXPENSIVE to upkeep no matter how much they cost to get. So for sure you need a fair amount of money coming in to get a horse. And a lot of knowledge too, since a beginner owning their own horse with little to no experience is likely to just get themselves hurt. ![]()
Dream Job: Owning a reptile store or a rabbit rescue or a rescue for American Pit Bull Terriers
Dream Home: A 50′ x 100′ two story tilt-up with built in aquariums and custom rooms for the animals. Me and my brother made a 3d model of it that I will post pictures of later.
Dream Car: A cargo van with plenty of room in the back for dog crates and a AC unit that runs when the car is off.
Dream Vacation: I hate vacations
I figured they weren’t all expensive. My aunt and uncle live in the U.P. and have a farm and they got an older horse for very little (all they could afford) and sadly when he passed they didn’t have enough money to get another so now a bull pulls the equipment I think. Horseback riding is fun though. Did it a couple of times on vacation before all the knee problems so I can see why people Do own horses. And Bones- this house sounds cool. I’d love to see the model.
Dream Job – Not original, but having my own rabbit rescue/sanctuary
Dream Home – somewhere on a beach with a guest house for my bunnies! lol
Dream Car – Mini Cooper!
Dream vacation – italy and france
What a cool thread!!! haha! Ive been thinking about my answers and have realised that a lot of them are sentimental things …….. hehehe (If I could tuuuurn back timeeeee…) ![]()
Dream Job? – I COULD say vet nursing, but I dont want to desensitise myself to the euthanasia issue, so I am going to say a role where I can learn about natural animal medicine… Oh and Id like to set up another Ostrich farm for the tourism value… and run a rabbit rescue on the side. XD
Dream Home? I would just about give anything to sell my house and move back to my familys farm… No point doing it right now though…. right? have to have something to look forward to when the time is right. Did I mention Imma gonna buy more ostriches ?!
Dream Car? I had an awesome Landcruiser once!!! the 98 model – I would love to buy another one of those!!! When it rains and the river floods, you can fit hella amounts of ostrich chicks in the back for transport. Yep, practical, and lovely to drive.
Dream Vacation? Ooooh this is a tough one!!! I think Im going to keep it simple and say (this week) Innes National Park, only 3 hours drive from here XD Sand dunes and stars and islands and… no work XD
Kafrn – There’s a lady who does doggie acupuncture and massage here. You could do that!
Dream Job?: First finally going to tech school, then working in a large 24h emerg clinic, then specializing in behaviour or rehabilitation, AND then owning my own animal rescue & NOT having to work part-time to pay for it
I already have the building layouts for different animals
haha. On a completely different note, if I was a more talented photographer I would love to be a war-time/natural disaster photographer
Dream Home? a small cottage type home, lots of wood & pillows, very cozy. And of course LOTS of land!
Dream Car? a giant Dodge Ram
, but more realisticly I’m totally happy with my Honda Civic.
Dream Vacation? A trip around the world, where I would stop around 3rd world countries and do volunteer work.
Kafrn: Wait, your family has ostriches??? So cool!
oooh!
Dream Job: politician. in the works =P
Dream Home: something cozy, in Berkeley or Oakland, with a large backyard so I can grow my own lemon and avocado trees! I’m not a fan of big houses.
Dream Car? 1971 chevelle SS. blue with white racing stripes. *drools*
Dream Vacation? ALL AROUND THE WORLD!
Job: Breeding and selling cutting horses
Home: A country style home 10 acres in Texas, oak everything! and a HUGE kitchen and master bedroom oh and patio
Car: Rang Rover
Vacation: South Africa or Thailand!
Dream Job: Horse boarding/training with a rabbit rescue on the side. Would like to re-train race/abused horses and then sell them to good homes. Wouldn’t be much money there but we are talking dreams, so that would be it. Yes, it is possible to make money with horses. There’s a stable near here that opened recently and the board for 1 horse is way more than my monthly mortgage! That’s not the stable where my horse is at!
My board is more reasonable but I’m pretty sure the owner is making half-decent money. Boarding other people’s horses is paying for the property and her own horses.
Dream Home: A quiet place in the country, surrounded by trees, with lots of room for my horses. Wrap-around porch and a sun-room to do embroidery. With a pool and greenhouse to grow veg for the buns.
Dream Car: I really want a black Mini Cooper. Not that fancy but they are super cute and it’s not something I can afford right now. I’m not into fancy, expensive cars. I do like old Mustangs though.
Dream Vacation: To see all the Tudor-related historical sites in England and then go on a horseback tour of Ireland.
Dream Job: Board certified equine medicine veterinarian working at a university veterinary teaching hospital; SO cool that I’m lucky enough to be in vet school already!
Dream Home: A roomy house with space for a bun room, entirely rabbit-proofed; huge, fancy barn; pool and hot tub; spacious rooms; a master bathroom with a stone shower that you walk into, complete with multiple showerheads and benches to sit on! Lots of acreage too. A pool and hot tub might also be nice.
Dream Car: A large truck, mostly for vet work and hauling horses, etc.
Dream Vacation: Anywhere! I’ve never been outside of the United States, even though my hometown is probably 3 hours from Canada! Also, anywhere that isn’t vet school is someplace I consider a vacation lol =)
bunnyfriend: Funny, we never visited Painted Rocks any time I was there. My parents did visit my grandma last summer (I couldn’t make it) and they decided to go to Painted Rocks. Their pictures are beautiful – I’m sad we never went when I was younger! I’ve also never spent a night on Mackinac Island, so that’s a goal some day. We always just took the ferry back, but I think spending a couple nights there in either a cute B&B or the Grand Hotel would just be awesome.
Elrohwen, funny you mentioned mackinac island, I got to stay there for 3 days this summer. The nights are so much different than the days. It’s super peaceful and un-crowded. We stayed at the Island House and they have deals all the time. The only thing is their porter service sucked and they never picked up our bags when we came and transported them to wrong place when we left. But I think it was just me and my bf’s rotten luck on that trip (several things went wrong). But it’s definitely a cool experience. With awesome scenery.
Dream job: physician…hopefully in a few years haha.
Dream home: Small and minimalistic in design but with everything I need (including bunnies galore), on beautiful property
Dream car: Not much of a car person either, haha. Something efficient?
Dream vacation: Like many people have said, around the world! But as for immediate destinations, I would love to go to Scandinavia and/or Eastern Europe.
Dream Job? Occupational Therapist or Special Ed Teacher. I would also be more than happy working for a non-profit that supports inividuals with disbilities or animal rights.
Dream Home? Something impervious to bunny teeth.
Dream Car? Right now, I really want either a Mini or a Nissan Versa.
Dream Vacation? I’m odd… I’d rather just take off on my own and explore areas I vaguely know. Especially by foot or kayak.
Dream Job: Working for a library/museum, preserving and reconstructing ancient works of art.
Dream Home: I want an adobe house, with wood floors, creaky floors, curved archways and bedrooms that once had sitting rooms attached to them. It would be on around 5 acres of land and there would be a large glass room off the kitchen for a green house. There would a two story circular room for a library, it would require one of the old ladders attached to the wall and there would be a large fireplace in it. I want to build a large garage with pits or lifts on the property (for the bf), a joining machine shop, and a large art studio for myself. I want a few goats, a horse and a llama. Of course there would be a large covered/fenced pen that had a doggy door attached to the house so the bunnies (I will get more) can go in and out on their own whim. (I’ve given this a lot of thought)
Dream Car: a Ferrari… I love the 612 Scaglietti, to me, that is the most beautiful car I have ever seen. I want it in silver.
Dream Vacation: I want to take my family to CA. I want to take my little sisters to Disney Land. I want to watch them experience something like that. I know my mother would never want to leave CA again, she grew up there, to her, OK is a death sentence.
