        Hello

My bunny tim is producing too many soft poops (although well formed like blackberrys), i am thinking the hay im feeding is too rich. I have been giving him oaten hay, but the last bail i bought had a lot of green hay in it which he preffered to eat. I have changed brands and this batch is a lot browner. Is there a better type, timothy etc that would be better for his tummy?

        Thanks

I give mine Timothy hay which seems to be better for my buns tummies.

Do you feed your bun anything else?

From a previous post, I see you are in Australia. If you can find a good source of meadow hay, that might be worth a try. Just be careful it doesn’t have lucerne hay mixed through it.

How old is Tim? Did the cecal poops start when he was on the greener hay?
What else is part of his regular diet?

Tim is about 5 1/2 months old. I were giving him barastoc pellets, greens like like pak choy and oaten hay. About a month i go i discoverd the bag of hay id bought had some mould in it. I disposed of it imediately, but not sure how much he ate of the mouldy bits, indidnt notice the mould for a while. The bext bag i bought had the more green hay in it. I reckon the extra cecals started around the mouldy hay/green hay time. Im wondering if it hasnt thrown his digestive balance off. Currently i am just giving him oaten hay and a few pellets. Wouldnit be better to cut out the pellets and try fresh greens instead?

He is still very full of beans, always up to mischief!
