They love you uncontionally. (Well, as long as the food bowls are filled, lots of hay, treats, and petting. . . ) They should give humans lessons on friendship.

Lol… what rabbits do you have?

Mine keep a list of demands in the pocket of their fur coats. ;o)

I was reminded yesterday why I love rabbits so much. We had a family dinner at my in-laws’ house. Our nephew is CRAZY! He’s not even 2 years old yet, but he was running around like a maniac and getting into everything. Anyway, it made me remember why I prefer my furry babies over real ones. The trouble the rabbits get into is mild compared to him and they are pretty naughty little brats at times. They are so sweet though and at least they go to bed at night and are quiet! LOL

LJB, I agree Rabbits don’t cry. They are opininated like any child or person, but they show it in more acceptable ways .. *insert laughter here*

I’m going to be an old mom, or I’m not even sure if I want children I’m happy to clean litter boxes for the rest of my life!

My rabbit and I have the closest bond already; it’s amazing. She does satisfy my urge to mother someone, as I’m ALWAYS tending to her needs, worrying about her safety, kissing her, scolding her, etc. We have other pets, but they are nowhere near as challenging or emotional. My parents have two pics of her in their house, one on the fridge and one in a frame on the living room wall. When people ask about the pics, my mom says: “That’s our grandbunny!” Lol.

The weird thing is that they aren’t like those people that just really don’t care about their kids’ behavior. Like when you go out to eat someplace nice and there will be people their with their out of control children. They will be screaming and screeching at the top of their lungs, running around the table, climbing around in their chairs, just being nuisances. And the parents completely ignore them, sitting there talking with whoever. It is so annoying! And it makes me even madder when people say “oh you’ll understand when you have kids”. Since when is bad behavior acceptable in public? My parents would have NEVER let me act that way. Anyway, I told my husband that if we had a kid like our nephew, I would probably snap. I wouldn’t be able to handle it. Our niece was nothing like him. She was the complete opposite, really. So yes, I am still thinking it would be better to clean out litter boxes for the rest of my life as well.

I agree LBJ – my mother would have NOT put up with me or my brother acting up in public. Most the kids that do that around here it’s like 9pm and the parents have them out in a restaurant for dinner and are giving them SODA… then “oh they’re just kids, kids misbehave” as they scream their heads off, cry, throw a tantrum, throw food and plates and argh. At least when my rabbit throws his food plate, it’s cute and playful, or asking for food.

I don’t know about the unconditional love part (Otto’s a jerk sometimes) but they sure are cute! I love that just looking at them calms me down and makes me happy – they don’t even have to be doing anything other than laying out in the living room (and that’s the extent of their activity most days anyway).

I also love that I don’t need to come home early to feed them – if I want to do something after work, they’ll just be asleep anyway and won’t notice that I’m gone. Though sometimes I get annoyed when I come home on time and want to play, but they just glare at me. Haha

Totally! It’s insane what goes in commercial foods now and I’m certain it’s huge reason why little kids go crazy. It amazes me when I see adults feed them another lolly just to distract the kid for a few more minutes so they can keep talking. Then 5 seconds later the kid there for another one.

The cuteness never gets old! The other day Rumball was completely asleep in a lopsided meat loaf position (leaning onto Jersey) with one paw extended way out in front. And he was doing the lip quiver thing. So funny! I swear my rabbits have made me laugh at least once EVERY day.

Half your luck. If I’m late for feeding I will face what Lintini terms as “rage poop”.

That’s exactly why I feed at 10:00 when it’s time for bed. Most nights they don’t even wake up until 8:00 at least (such lazy rabbits!), so if I come home a bit later they don’t really notice. If I’m out past 10:00 though they have their little faces pressed to the cage bars when I get in. Haha.

eta: Speaking of cute, Otto ran out to the living room this morning just minutes before we were going to leave and lay down in the middle of the floor with his feets stretched out behind him. So cute! I almost died. I definitely told DH that I couldn’t possibly go to work while Otto was being that cute.

Oh yes  I agree with you!

My dad HATES little children that whine and cry at restaurants! It is his ULTIMATE PET PEEVE.. I think he breaks a vein staring at the parents  He doesn’t mind if it is a newborn – that is how they communicate… older kids.. he has no patience for

When i cried in a store, my mom would take me out into the car to calm down. I also got the belt as a child so.. I knew better than to mess with mom and dad

Rabbits are easier than children, period

Oi, yeah. People just don’t discipline kids anymore. This next generation is so going to be a generation of wimps, what with a light smack ont eh rear being child abuse now. *rollseyes* It worked for millenia, now all of a sudden a spanking is “wrong”. Ugh.

Kids in restaurants piss me off lol. Theres a reason why my mom never took us kids to nice places. People don’t care to hear kids yelling, or have them running around like little idiots. There are restaurants that are more suited to small children, if people insist on taking them out. Get babysitters! Grrrr.

My mom only spanked me when I did something bad – and understood it. She put soap in my mouth for cussing one time hahaha

Bunnies do talk back, but it the back talk is cute
