What have I done wrong?

I was cleaning up and found the wall socket covers, I thought I would put them in the sockets before I loose them again,I had to go into Olly’s playpen to reach over and put them in, I got Olly some apple and gave it to him, he dived into his bed and was munching on the apple, when I had got the socket covers in I went to stroke Olly, he was still munching on his apple, of course very gently I stroked him and he nudged me with quite some force, I said. “OK, Mummy is sorry darling.” I locked him back up in his pen and I’ve watched him a while, he seems OK.

Can rabbits be like dogs, like if they have a treat ‘Keep away, that’s mine.’ ? I know if you give a dog a bone and go near them they can growl, we did have a dog when I was little that when it had a bone you could say to him. “Give me that bone.” And he would bring it to you and he was a big German Shepard dog, but had been brought up with small children and babies, I’m just wondering if he is getting possessive over his food, its OK if he is there are no other animals and I’ll just have to accept that he doesn’t want touching when he’s eating.

I’m new to rabbits but he may be guarding his food. Momiji will take treats out of my hand then hop away and start eating. I think some rabbits are just protective of their food.

I really don’t think there’s anything wrong at all. Rabbits are very temperamental, their moods can shift and change like lightning. I think you may have just touched him in a spot he didn’t like, moved too fast, or like you said maybe he thought you were gonna try to take his treat. From what I’ve seen of your other posts Olly is a VERY smart, very good bun, it might just be that he got a little annoyed. I don’t think there’s a problem at all, especially since he didn’t try to nip at you he just pushed your hand away. I wouldn’t worry, it’s okay.

I agree with Serenity. He didn’t nip or growl, he just told you his treat was his Olly is a great bunny! When Bam gets sth extra good he gallops away with it so he’ll get to have it for himself

Yes I thought it was something like that, not that I would eat his apple, he doesn’t know that though, I only get them for him also bananas, I suppose it is like Granny gives the little boy a treat and all his elder cousins are there and Uncles, so he decides to hide in the pantry with his treat and if anyone goes near him even his big sister, he will turn his back so he is facing the corner so no one even sees the treat, then if they go closer the boy automatically thinks ‘Thief, oh no.’ then a massive fight I suppose it is a bit like that.
