Both my male and female bunnies were chewing on their log tunnel toy. They’re usually good at sharing although just now I saw Peanut use his paw to sort of push Buttercup out of the way, approximately 5 times. He’s never done that before. What’s even weirder is Buttercup never responded, she just sort of let it happen?
There was no signs of aggression or anything, I’m just a bit worried about this? They are both going to be 4 months old in a few weeks, Peanut will be neutered the day he turns 4 months (it’s all booked in) He isn’t being territorial or spraying or anything. His behaviour hasn’t really changed at all, apart from him being a little more confident/less timid.
What does this mean? I always thought Buttercup was “the boss” because she’ll usually be the pushy one when it comes to food or water. But she’s also the one that grooms him and snuggles next to him. Rarely the other way around.
I took the log away for 5 minutes and they seemed calm. I’ve just put it back, next to me to see what happens. I wonder if my boy bunny got a bit ‘too into it’? It probably doesn’t help that even though the toy is plenty big enough to share, they both chew at the same part of the log
Thoughts?
