Ok guys, i REALLY need your help and dont know what to do!
My twin brother works in construction and works with all kinds of persons…
well here is my problem…this afternoon my brother came home with a baby bunny…looks to be female…still young to tell, going to the vet tomorrow to be checked for health and sexing. one of the guys they use as a “temp”, they are placed with companies thru a job placement agency and when other companies need more workers, they have temps come in and work so they dont have to go thru tring to hire new people for only certain number of jobs spread out…but anyway, back to my point, one of these guys had this baby bunny in a tim hortons tim bit box and told my brother it was his pet and he takes it everywhere…and it lives in the tim bit box when traveling or in a 24 case empty beer box…WTF!!! (sorry bout the langauage) so, all in all my brother took the bunny and brought it me. he got very little information on the bunny, it is 4 weeks old and is a new zealand cross…appearently this guy’s step dad breeds them for very large snakes…so, now i have this itty bitty baby, he is in my opinion, pretty underweight but is eating well and moves around and plays, has very bright and clear eyes and alert…so im assuming a side for the weight issue, seems healthy…thus why going to see the vet tomorrow to make sure.
my problem is this! do i open my heart and home to this little one or take it to a shelter? i have not named it cause well, you dont name animals you dont keep but i dont know if i should keep the helpless little thing or pass it on….
ANY ADVICE PLEASE!!! i just want to make sure the little one is healthy for myself and that is why it is going to a vet trip!
I posted this here…cause i didnt know where else to post it
well it do you want another bun?
-well i do want another bun but i dont know if it is a good idea to keep one this soon after heifer passing. i wasnt planning on getting another bun but this little one, im more then sure would have not made it in this moron’s care and i couldnt tell my brother to take it elsewhere being that young and neededing help. he knows my soft spot for animals in need. i used to forster dogs to rehabilitate them and find good homes.
Are there any pictures that could help us help you?
Well maybe it was meant to be?
If you keep this little one you know that he is going to have a great life, much much better than what he would’ve had..
i only have one pic of it at this time…this is the pic of it the day he come to me thru my brother…it isnt a good pic and it is quite young…poor little thing…i did find this evening a patch of fur missing and some skin removed as well…it is a bit bloody so i have tended to that to aviod infection and to keep it clean until it sees a vet tomorrow…i do have animal first aid…but anyway…here is the pic of the little one, it isnt a very good one. i will get better ones tomorrow

oh my, how tiny! I remember when Tank and Ranger were that small!
It’s gonna be tough to follow through if you decide not to keep him/her. Good luck at the vet!
thank you. i will let everyone know what the vet says. im hoping it will be a clean bill of health and something for the wound…
Oh my goodness. Poor little baby. Keep us posted.
poor think, new zelands can get quite big… im thinking this isnt a coinsidence…..
its is a good thing you didnt buy from that terrible breeder, and heifers passing was so you could save this little guy…
ok i have new pics of the little one, still no name, in the cage i have set up for it and pics of moose’s area. they are side by side but they cant touch anything other then their noses…no teeth! good news though, it did get a clean bill of health and the wound is doing fine, the vet said that i should just keep doing what i am doing instead of having to buy stuff ive shown i dont need so that was nice…love being able to treat most wounds on my own…saves a lot in vet costs. the little one is healthy and the vet said it is defiently a cross…new zealand and cant tell with what…still young and has said it looks to be 3-4 weeks…OMG!!! so very young and i was right, it is a bit under weight. but other then the wound and the weight, it is healthy so i was happy to hear that.
What a cutie… glad to hear the poor thing is nice and healthy
So.. have you decided to keep him/her? ![]()

Awwww! SOOOOO CUTE! What a darling baby! He looks like the size my Tansy was a week ago. Squishyhuggybabybun size! LOL
A bit off topic of the darling baby bun…but your siamese cat is gorgeous…apple head siamese right? We have blue points here, love siamese cats!
Wow… that bunny makes little Moose look like a giant in comparison! She is adorable…
MB, you need to save “Fluffykins McSnugglebum” for your future grey lop. Great name!
She almost appears a chocolatey colour – very pretty colour. Good to hear she got a clean bill of health.
I’m submitting the name Elke. Moose & Elke. btw, there’s a horse in your living room.
lintini…thank you, he is 9 months old and i got him for free at the farm i work at. he is a perfect seal point, but yes apple head, with the most amazing blue eyes…they are icy blue on the outside and a royal winter blue inside….very stunning little boy…the sad part is that moose(10weeks old on march 21st) is the same size as my 9 months old cat!!….
she looks like a chocolatey gey colour… im very curious to see if it changes as she gets older. i do really like the name elk for her….
and so elk and lego are in the running….
dont worry binkyfree, my two buns are the same size as my siamese cats also, ![]()
mirbear, how old are your buns and the cats?
Elk! That’s cute! You better take that name before MonkeyBun names her 3rd bunny that! Hehe ![]()

nice! bun is 10 weeks and cat is 9 months….poor cat is going to start loosing to the bun! ha ha ha ha
so young! why cant they just stay like that forever??
Those pics are so cute! I love the cat and moose stretching on tippy toes trying to watch the baby bun’s antics! What is her name? I vote Lego.
She doesnt have a name as of yet! i am horrible for naming pets, i named my 5 year old dog from a dream i had 4 years prior to adopting him from the spca from a dream i had and i swear to you, he was the dog in my dream and all i remebered about the dream was a dog that looked identical to him and the dogs name was thayer. my cat i named by my brother and i drawing names and the very first rabbit i had i named and my second guinea pig…every one of my pets, other then those 4, i have had other people name! and this includes: 8 different pets!!!!
so, come on people…name this little baby!! she needs one…or she is going to start to think that the nameless baby is her name!!! :S
Name her Binky ![]()
She has a name!!!!! Her name is Luna!!!!
Yay for Luna!
Aww, I love Luna! Congrats on your new bunny!
Aww that’s a great name! ![]()
today luna and moose went outside for the first time for a bit…once they relaxed, they had a pretty good time! luna enjoyed it much more then moose did! luna binkied 3 times and moose just ran around her area like a scared fool….silly girl!
Sometimes I think that animals come into our lives when we need them. I was not going to get a rabbit not yeat anyway i was thinking about it but had to much on my plate with my birds. Then it just sort of happened that I got Bugz and it was also the same night that Willow my Eckkie passed away in my arms, I spent most of the night cuddling bugz just crying into his fur and that was it there was a reason I got the phone call that day asking me to take him. I think little Luna is suppose to be with you and some how everything aligned for her to met you.
Congratulations, Luna is a great name!!
