  Do you have a picture of his back? I think he may be an English Spot mix, but I’m not sure.
  
  (If he is one, he’s a mix with some smaller breed.)

  Do you know what age and weight he is? It has what is sometimes called “English” or “Butterfly” coat pattern but this can occur in many different breeds.
