What am I thinking!

There is a lady I go to church with who keeps asking me if I will adopt one of her rabbits. Okay, she is a nice person and all BUT she eats them! She has a young adult male who an adorable 1/2 mini lop and 1/2 lionhead! How cute is that?!  Her daughter carries this rabbit all over thier house and it even sleeps in her bed. It is extremely friendly! I WANT IT!!!  I know, I am out of my mind crazy! He is unaltered and I already have two rabbits. But, I am a stay at home Mom and I have room for another one Talk me out of it!!!!

I would enjoy your time with the buns you have now. It’s really important you spend as much time with your bunnies now at their teenager stage to get a great bond with them. Plus with your male(s) teenager stage you could be in for some serious spraying/poop wars bringing in an adult unaltered male. I know how it is though when you fall in love with another – but you know what’s best for your household.

Why does she want to get rid of this rabbit when her daughter must be very attached to him?

Lol, I know you are trying to give me some great advice (that I should listen to) but all I see is all of those beautiful bunnies staring at me! lol
I get your point but Baxter gets neutered next Thursday….come on, give me something else! lol

Well what makes you want to add a third and why does this lady want to give away her daughters rabbit? What’s your plans on housing for him if you get him? If you do get a third it’s best to just be prepared for him and know what you are getting into so it doesn’t stress you out and overload you. When I got my second rabbit I was flipping out because I wasn’t prepared to house him. I just don’t want to see you overwhelmed when you have your 2 lovelies already.

Well, I REALLY want a lop rabbit…lionheads are adorable. It’s the cuteness! lol I have no idea where I would put him but my house is big enough. lol I don’t really know why she wants to give him away. It wasn’t supposed to be her daughters pet, she just got attached to it. I don’t think she wants rabbits in her house. She keeps her others outside I told her that if she had him neutered I would take him lol. I doubt that would happen. She isn’t really a pet rabbit person and I just can’t see her forking that kind of money out for one. Okay, I’m over it! I think! Thanks!

*oh, as for stressing me out…my rabbits are my stress relief. lol They make me feel better when I’m having a cruddy day!lol

I kept them or got them for the same reason, I had the time and money and Bun and Indy were taken out of not so well conditions. Bun was going to end up at a shelter if she wasn’t adopted because her owners were moving over seas, Indy was in a tiny tiny cage with 10 brothers and sisters covered in urine. I couldn’t walk away from either of them. Bee…I just fell in love with her instantly and Bagheera was given to me. I wasn’t going to get more than 3 but things changed. There is no room for 5 here. My rabbits make me happy too and helped me get through losing my grandma, they don’t stress me out but the extra work that I gave myself did. I got into a cleaning/feeding routine and it’s worked out well for me. I chuckled at the “keep getting more” – now I feel like an addict :p But that’s why I’ve been responding because I thought I would be a good person to talk to since I didn’t exactly plan any of my adoptions – they just kind of happened.

 

I didn’t want to talk you into it or out of it. You should wait and see what other members have to say other than just me. They will have good advice for you.

The simple fact is, you don’t have room in your life for another one, it wasn’t meant to be, and if you defy this knowledge, terrible unforseen things will happen. (: Relax. there will be more ADORABLE rabbits in the future. Did I talk you out of it? ^^’;

LOL Lintini you ARE an addict! We all are! I would have as many as you if my Husband and time would allow it. I didn’t mean anything at all by “keep getting more” lol. I just think it is so funny that the people on here that try and talk others out of getting another bunny are the ones who have a lot of bunnies! lol I asked to be talked out of it and you did a great job! Thanks! The truth is, I don’t really think I could handle another at this point! So, the next time my Husband tells me to stay away from this site because it is making me go rabbit crazy I will tell him that it was this site that saved him from having to pay for another rabbit! lol Thanks!

Haha! Nope I wasn’t going to talk you into it or out of it. Just thought it would be good for you to think it over more! And I have seen the differences in rabbits I got to spend time with versus Bun who was 2 when I adopted her and there are major differences so I just think it’s important to spend as much time with them as possible when they are little, well and forever too I guess   Ah I know you were teasing I am addicted to bunnies tho! Love them to bits! If you do want another it will fall into place – there are tons of rabbits that need loving homes like yours.

BUT, truth be told…..It you YOU that made me want another! ha ha ha! You were the enabler and you didn’t realize it lol. It was your little Bagheera! You posted a pic of that but with the glasses on and it said “ma am, do you know how fast you were going?” That was the cutes darn thing I’ve seen! Then, after church one day that lady asked me if I want her rabbit! lol

Hi Nibz, looks like you’re over the crisis point . I posted my sentiment on this sort of thing (being asked to take someones rabbit) to Minty whose facing a similiar dilemma.

Hahhaa, at first, I really wanted another bunny to keep Koucha busy… and I decided against it after sleeping on it for a long while.

She is spoiled, she has a lot of toys, and gets new toys each month. Taking care of her is a handful. She gets lots of love from me, and she gives loves in return

I am planning on getting a friend for her in the near future – 1 to 2 years. If she doesn’t get along with other buns when I take her speed dating, I’m totally down with her being a single bun.

lol Jersey, my Husband tells me to stay a way from this site because it is pics of other peoples bunnies that makes me want more. lol He says it in a joking way lol.

Brittany, I already got sucked into the cuteness once…that’s how Bella came along. lol I am a total sucker for bunnies now.

My husband gets tired of hearing me talk about them.lol I will always have bunnies. They are so fun!

That would be awesome to actually meet everyone! LOL! Nibbles, I had to stop looking at addds for bunnies! I only have one, and am not allowed anouther! LOL! YET! HEHE! If one came up that needed a good home again, I would get him/her! I was told no for Lily & I have her! But how many is enough? If you got anouther one, and anouther one needed saved….. when would it ever stop?! If I lived by myself or with someone who was a real animal lover like myself, my house would be all bunnies! LOL! I’d live in a bunny house! LOL!
