Hi guys, my rabbit first started having a wet chin when he was about 7 years old.  Read that that meant dental issues, so brought him to a vet who found out that he had a lot of problems with his molars.  He had no lower right teeth, the upper right teeth were growing long and crooked, and the entire row of lower left teeth were porous.  He will need lifelong dental visits.  I had no idea he had such issues as he was eating very well.

The vet extracted 2 of his upper right teeth, and he recovered very well – eating like his usual greedy self the very day he was back from the operation.  However, even since the operation, he is drooling worse than ever (see pic).  His cheeks, chin and front legs are constantly wet.  The vet just told me to try to keep him dry.  I dab the wet spots with a tissue and dust with pure corn starch daily, but there is no way I can stop the wetness. I have since trimmed all the wet fur, leaving him with unsightly bald spots.  He is eating and pooping well though.

Does anyone have any idea what I can do keep him dry?

My nephew is teething and wears these neck kerchief style bibs. Do you think your rabbit would tolerate something like that? They have either a press stud or velco at the back, so if it got caught on something, it should come undone easily like breakaway collars.

Does he still have his incisor teeth at all?
