Here’s some buns with really good potty behaviors.
Note that the vid may stick at the very beginning so click a little bit past the beginning of the progression bar to get it running.
Belgian hares are gorgeous! And apparently smart!
That’s too funny. The boy bun looks like he was looking for the toilet paper roll ![]()
i want !!
Heehee. What stunning rabbits they are too.
WOW! Just wow!!!
The thing I was wondering when I was watching this video was if the people have designated a toilet specifically for the buns, or if they remove the grid thing and go the the bathroom themselves really quickly so their bunnies don’t pee on the floor when the litter area is taken.
thats cool.
Ooo Cool! I wish I could get Leroy and Jeannie to do that! ![]()
Now all they need is a hay rack on there and thats bunny heaven.

one question do buns en joy clicker training?
The idea is that rabbits are very intelligent creatures and without something to keep them engaged, they can become bored, sad and even destructive. Clicker training is a way to engage them intellectually, trying to figure out what the hell you want from them as well as learning what to do to get the goodies. It is a more interactive system of “hide the treat in the toilet paper tube” that often has happy side effects for both bunny and owner.
I “clicker train” my rabbits to respond to a whistle. To them, whistle=very tasty treat. This is what I use if I need to get them for whatever reason. I make sure that when I do nab them after whistling, they get a treat as well.
However, the above system isn’t clicker training. I’ve seen it with cats as well. What they do is put a litter pan designed to fit over the toilet in there so the animal gets habitualized into the fact that that is where it is suppose to go. You then add the grate so that they lose the tactile sensation of the litter under their paws. You then remove the litter and no more litter! Cats are able to balance on the actual toilet seat and go that way so you don’t even need the grate. I’ve even seen one person train the cat to then flush via a dangly string toy tied to the lever.
I once looked into “toilet” training my cats- but at the time we only had one bathroom and my husband said there was no way he was going to wait for one of the cats to finish their business if he needed to use the toilet. He was very opposed to the idea.
I am impressed that they got the male bunny to go use the potty without any magazines there to read! Maybe that is why the stuff is posted on the bathroom door? LOL. Whenever we have company over I make my husband move his stack of reading material off the back of the toilet- it is nothing bad- cooking magazines, saltwater fish catalogs, etc- but it is embarassing to me to have a stack of 8 or so magazines- and sometimes books on the back of the toilet. Of course if we toilet trained the bunnies- that would take care of that problem!!
On that is cool!
KatnipCrzy – our stack is over 20 magazines & catalogs
my mom and her bf goes thru a big crossword puzzle a week.
Petzy, did you see this?!
So great! And the models are gorgeous!! The video didn’t have much info with it though on youtube. If I had a 2nd toilet I would totally give it to the rabbits. Beats cleaning out litter boxes. Has anyone seen those squat toilets? I’m thinking something like that would work. I reckon Jersey would take to it. She demonstrated to me when I did bathtub bonding sessions that the drain hole was the toilet.
I saw the buck drop one over the side before he went to potty lol. boys are so messy! (says me with 1 messy Doe at home!)
W…O…W!
That’s it, I know what kind of bunnies I’ll add to the family next! ^_^
I also wanted to train my cats that way, Katnip…they won’t have anything to do with the commode, Griff alone has fallen in there oh… about a hundred times! *sploosh!*
It’s not the hub I’d have to worry about with ‘potty-trained’ bunnies…it’d be when the son gets home from college and wants to take his DS in there with him…we’re all standing outside pounding on the door. The poor bunnies would have to wait there with their little hocks crossed and hop from foot to foot!
lol. Funny mental image.
haha… excellent! that would so work in my household. especially if i could get the dog to use the toilet too! *dreams of poop-cleaning-free days*
MM, thus why I require any place I live to have at least 2 bathrooms lol. Don’t have to wait ![]()
How easy would clean-up be if you just had to flush!??!!!!!!!! I love it!
where do you buy a bunny toilet seat like that?
Arduina likes to run around the toilet while we go…
Ok that sucks my guys still struggle with the litter tray concept and that guy has them going in the fricking toliet!
that video is going around the rabbit advocates right now lol. they are all amazed at how the buns use it!
I love this video!
But this morning, as I took out the litter pan to wash it and got kisses on my feet, then returned it full of clean litter, that little contented face that watched me go to work as she sat in her fresh, sweet litter pan made me less anxious to share my throne.
lol yeah. I’d never be able to train Monkey to use a toilet. She’s too cute when she smooths out her litter and flops in it when its just right before going potty. ![]()
Lol omg I could see my families face if they came in and seen a rabbit sitting on the toilet! Priceless!
I have to agree, Pam, there’s nothing like seeing your rabbit giving you the adoring stare as they make new piddle on all your hard work…especially when it’s in triplicate! xD
I was late getting cleanup done today, so there had to be three bunnies who were having to swallow hard until that fresh pan showed up. ~_~
Lol. Jeannie just poops all over the floor if her litter box is too dirty!
Leroy doesn’t care. Silly boys
Monkey does that too Barbie. Must be a girl thing
Moose likes just HAVING the box, doesn’t care if its clean or not lol. Sounds like a bachelor to me.. silly boy ![]()
