Today a friend recommended the website Sparkpeople.com for tracking calories, fitness, weightloss, etc. Anyone else tried it? I’m really enjoying it!
For dinner tonight we had a casserole type thing – I was able to put all of the ingredients in as one “food group”, then give myself 0.16 of a serving (I cut it into twelve pieces, and had two of those pieces for dinner, so 1 casserole/12 total pieces*2 pieces for dinner=0.16 of a serving). And I saved that “food group” so I can easily add 0.08 servings for lunch tomorrow when I have just one piece. It’s pretty cool! It also has tons of processed foods, restaurant foods, etc to choose from and add to your diet. It’s so hard to count calories when you cook and I love that I can enter some of the recipes I make every week and just estimate how much of that total I ate – instant calorie count.
It also keeps track of your goals (and there are lots of goal choices, not just ones involving weightloss or exercise) and you can input how much you’ve exercised, what you’ve done, and it will tell you if you reached your goal.
I know a few of us are trying to lose weight, so I wanted to post about this because it’s extremely helpful and I don’t remember anyone sharing it before.
