Hello everyone! Next weekend I have to go to my cousins graduation. I will be away for 3 days, Fri-Sat-Sun. (I’d leave fri come back Sun). Due to being a student my income is VERY low, not giving me a lot of money to hire a pet sitter. My dad said he’d be willing to take care of her at his house, though he might pick her up Thursday. Daisy is in litter training. She’s never been to his home (which has 2 dogs), yet we would obviously have a designated room for her. Im nervous leaving her in a new environment with new smells without me! She is quite the traveler though and has already been acclimated to 2 other living environments, my moms, and my boyfriends in which she got accustomed quite quickly (yet I was there to help). Do you have any tips to make this transfer more comfortable for her and less stressful? Though it’s only a few days I know stress can take a huge toll on bunnies so I’m quite nervous!  Please give me all the tips you have! Have you ever done this? PLEASE TIPS!!!

I think it really boils down to the individual rabbit’s stress tolerance/personality. Last weekend I brought Kurotta to my parents’ house for the first time. Initially he was a little cautious about the new environment and would rather hide in the cosy little house I brought over from my place, but it didn’t take too long until he was out exploring and even flopped. I don’t have dogs though but I know rabbits do react differently to dogs and not all are afraid of them.

If you’re worried about the smell, you could leave one of your shirts with your dad since it would be a familiar smell to her. You could also try bringing her to your dad’s a few days earlier before you head off, so she has more time to get used to the environment there.
