Yeah!! Finally, the webcams are back up.

Sorry it took so long. We are getting through the huge pile of site fixits and priorities…it feels like we are just slothing it all the way through because it seems like each thing takes such a long time to fix. Definitely feeling like we are walking in molasses, but slowly but surely we will whip this place into shape.
One thing we finally fixed is our webcams. The old computer (dedicated to the cams finally died — very old, and a couple of the webcams had seen better days, so we had to revamp te system, install, etc. We also broadcast it on Ustream so there is one camera that will have some annoying ads — one that is a full blown 15 second commercial when you first open the page, but after that it’s gone.

Ah, ya caught me!
I was tidying up up the floor so I could turn off the cameras and hang out on the floor with them in a little bit. Vivian will sometimes charge that vacuum– it’s not really a vacuum but those battery powered shark sweeper things that don’t make much noise. Great for picking up crumbs, hay and stray poos. -
I use a shop vac in the mornings if the place is a mess (lots of hay and to get hair that has built up in areas where they lay down the most). Then once a week or so, I vacuum with a regular vacuum to pick up dust and hair that is deeper in the carpet.
But to keep the surface tidy of hay strands, light fur, crumbs and stray poo, I use this shark. http://www.target.com/Shark-Folding…tailbutton It’s quiet..ish, light weight, and does a good job. It has a small canister, so I have to dump it once a day. But it’s just really easy and picks up really well on low pile carpet, like what is in the bunnyroom and throughout the house, and it does well on hard wood floor. Again, it’s not going to get deep down, but it does a great job picking up and making the place look tidy.
