Awww… Thanks for the kind words…. I had a litterbox trained house bunny 14 years ago… But have not owned a bun in years… Friends of our got 2 lion head buns for their sons bday, (He turned 8) and then I didn’t hear the end of my son wanting one… He even went so far as to say that he didn’t care if a bunny was his only bday present, he wanted a bunny. This little boy turns 9 in a few weeks, and has said since he was old enough to say it, that he wanted to be a Vet or a Marine Biologist when he grows up.
I did tons of research on the different breeds… I wanted to make sure we got a breed that would mix well with our family. We have a French Bulldog, a Sphynx cat (Hairless cat), and an adopted kitty.
When I read about the English Angora’s personalities, I knew they were the right fit for us. I stay at home with our 3 yr old, so I have the time to do the grooming… We researched what type of pen we wanted for her, and decided that we would build a NIC Cube condo… We went and bought everything that we would need from the hay to the Papaya, and then brought our bun home.
She is super sweet, has the best personality… She just sits there and lets us brush her, and yesterday fell asleep on my bed with me with her chin on my pillow…
I know that the Angoras are not for everyone because of all of the grooming involved, but I am willing to do the extra work to have the right bunny for us, and I really think we made the right choice… My friend with the Lionheads says I am nuts, but she didnt want a bun that required lots of grooming… Too bad one of her Lionheads turned out to be a double maned, with TONS of fur… LOL
Once again thanks for the warm welcome! I look forward to getting to know you all and your buns! I will be sure to post more pics of her soon! She is not camera shy at all!! I hope she never gets loose in my daugthers room, if she managed to get into the stuffed animal bin, I might never find her… She truly does look like a stuffed bunny…
