  Her name is Zoe, pronounced Zoey though. She is a 9 week old Basset Hound. She is super sweet! The bunnies were terrified when we brought her home last night but Dexter and Dennis are much more relaxed. The flood of smells overwhelmed them a little. We are going to take it very slow but so far Dex and Dennis have come up to her gate and smelled around. I have been wanting a dog for soo long! It is exciting!

  Omgoodness! I don’t think I’ve ever seen a basset hound pup before. Didn’t know how utterly adorable they were! I can’t get over the legs. lol

  I always loved big floppy basset hounds! My dad had one when I was growing up he was awesome.

  She is amazingly beautiful! It’s interesting how she has a puppy body but her face looks so “mature”. Congrats. I am itching for a dog.

  What a cutie! Congrats! My friend had a Bassett hound and I remember her dad taking it for VERY slow little walks every morning. Those legs are pretty short!
  
  I’m curious as to how a hound would react to bunnies. But as long as you take it slow I’m sure they will be fine.

  She is curious about them but she is surprisingly well behaved. She learned sit already and will sit quietly and watch them. She has no interest in chasing them. She does nto chew or bite, what kind of puppy is this?! She is such a sweetie. Dennis actually really likes her! He puts his head down to be groomed and she will lick his head. We are taking it slow but things look really good so far!

  I got a couple pictures of Zoe and Dennis today! I had to take them on my cell phone, but they are still cute! They really like eachother. He likes to climb on her while she is sleeping. She loves to lick Dennis. He thinks he is getting groomed so he is happy! She is such a well behaved puppy. No biting, no chasing, no nipping, nothing!

  Congrats! I love Zoe! I love those droopy eyes and ears… what does her bark sound like? Has she barked?

  She is not a big barker. When we first got her she would let out a few howls (which were hilarious!) at night when we would put her in her crate. She has barked a few times, it has a little grumble to it!

  OMG!! I LOVE BASSET HOUNDS! They are one of my favorite breeds. Its what I wanted but we ended up adopting our Max instead. So cute!

  That’s probably THE perfect breed to have around bunnies. They are friendly, laid back, and although ‘hunting’ dogs-they’re scenthounds, not terriers…..so the instincts (although you can always retrain if your keen on that) aren’t there for hunting. Just AWESOME choice
