So, my Harvey who’s been with us for 7 days (a little aniversary, yay!) has a fabric sheet rolled out over the bottom of his cage to make it softer for his paws (he likes to binky in the cage too so I opted for a softer landing material). This has worked great for us and he hasn’t peed on it once and uses his toilet 100% of the time which is great. Now, regardless of whether he does or doesn’t have an accident, I still do need to wash it at some point. First of all, how often do you wash you rabbit’s fabric and how do they respond to the change? I have an identical sheet to use when I need to replace the current one but he’s totally going to know I switched it… And most importantly, what product do you use for washing? Obviously, fabric softener is a nono – they put all sorts of chemicals in it and it also leaves a scent. But what about washing powder? Is that ok, shall I use some natural alternative? Or buy a bunny shampoo and wash the sheet with that?
