So over Thanksgiving I went to the local humane society shelter to donate some bunny food, toys, and supplies and they had soo many bunnies! It was so sad, and they were all about seven months to a year old (easter bunnies obviously).  And while I definitely wanted to take them all home with me, there was this one in particular named Blinky who was being a cute little monster shredding the newspaper in her cage. I love her! She’s only seven months old and is a cute black and white ball of crazy.  I made the mistake of looking at the shelter web page because my boyfriend’s considering another tortoise, and she’s still there.  I think I need to be talked out of going to adopt her. I don’t really think Kate and Spence want a crazy little friend, but it just makes me so sad to think of that silly little bun stuck in a tiny cage in a shelter.

Edit: I edited the link, hopefully it works now.

The link isn’t working haha but I definitely know how you feel…I just decided to search the animals online at the shelter and then I ended up bringing Totoro home, Wilbur and him are in love so it worked out okay Now I also volunteer to take care of rabbits at the shelter…it is so hard not to want to bring them home!

screw a turtle, they can live for 50 years without any help.
                get the bunny

She’s beautiful! Reminds me of my recently passed Domino.

I’d take her if I could, haha. That’s a reason why I only manly work with dogs (unless they have a few ferrets or rats, because no one takes them out and they need out time everyday) but then I get attached to the smaller animals because it is easier to add them to the family… But I love volunteering and helping dogs so It’s a struggle I live with. Haha.

As I was reading your post, I was thinking that the rabbit you were describing sounded pretty similar to one I had just seen at our local shelter when we went to adopt our newest bunny (who I still need to post pics of in the welcome forum!). I couldn’t believe it when I clicked on the link and it was the same one! If you remember the bunnies you saw at Thanksgiving, our little Heschi monster was there at that time as well. At the shelter, his name was Joey and he’s a small white rabbit with blue eyes, about 9 months old. He came home with us about a week after thanksgiving and he has been a wonderful little terror. Blinky seemed super sweet and she is very pretty! I vote yes!

Oh my goodness, I remember seeing Joey! (easy to remember, my boyfriend’s name is Joseph, plus he was a very striking bun) He was adorable too, I’m so glad that he found a good home!

Alternatively, you could convince some friends that they need a rabbit.

I’m gonna have to agree with Mike. I’m not very good at talking people out of bunnies! But I can relate. My shelter has a bunch of cuties that have been there for a long time. That was so sweet of you to donate stuff for the buns.

Thanks for the commiseration all! If I only had the room, I’d go pick her up today. Sadly, if she, Kate and Spence don’t get a long I wouldn’t have anywhere to put her because I live in a matchbox sized apartment. If I had a house or even a bigger apartment she would be here now most likely. I told my boyfriend he needs to move here so we can get a bigger place and go rescue her but he has this crazy idea that he shouldn’t leave until he finishes the PhD he started.
