So I made a video for Melbel showing how I pick up rabbits, and I thought since I went to the trouble (bugging Dave to come video me, yelling at him for getting my face in the video since I was not doing hair and makeup, yelling at him for not starting it properly, bugging him to upload it for me ) I would share with you all.

Please note this is my method. If you have a different method that works and is safe-don’t worry -use yours! It’s just hard to explain and a video is better  This is how I pick up any rabbit, and the primary focus is securing their legs so they cannot thrash around. Being confident is the key, and they will with practice allow this.

Starring in the film is Rupert. He was not easy to even pet when I adopted him, skittish and definitely tried to escape being held. So this is not a trick rabbit-this is what happens with practice and trust  (And works for us! Use what works for you!!)

I love the expression on his face at the end “What! Did she say bunny burrito? OH NO!”

              Thank you so much!!

So far when I’ve tried to scoop him up in the way you did, he swipes at my hands and kicks (not thumps, kicks to get out of my arms when I try to scoop him up) and will usually dart off under my bed. So, I’m going to keep practicing! Thanks again!

                  NEED MORE PICS OF RUPERT!

That’s kind of how I pic up my buns, but a little different.

Melbell-you could try the ‘bird method’-throw a towel on him then go in quick for the ‘pick up’ Keep practicing and good luck!

Mocha-I will try-with renovations in full swing, extra hours at work and house hunting I can’t guarantee timeline but I’ll try to put some up soonish
