Vibes for my bunnies please

Took all three buns for their annual checkups. Marlee and Kieko’s bloodwork showed extremely high phosphorus levels. Moshi’s pre-op bloodwork was fine back in April so we didn’t do his this time. Repeating bloodwork for the girls on Thursday and doing Moshi’s as well, plus doing urinalysis on the girls. Oddly, all other bloodwork was fine. Really hoping the lab made a mistake. If not, will be starting the girls on phosphorus binders to try to keep them out of renal failure. ?

I’ve my fingers crossed it is some kind of mistake. Especially for it to be showing in both the girls.

I remember one time Sarita saying about a vet getting weird lab results for a while and it turned out the calibrations on machine (or something like that) had been set for cat. I don’t recall exactly but it was giving false results for rabbit tests.

Thanks. Tomorrow’s the day, then comes a week of waiting for results. We bought a water filtration system in case its the water (had been giving then bottled water).

New bloodwork done on all buns today and vet ran the bloodwork on her in-house equipment. All levels are normal! She called the lab and the they apparently didn’t receive it in time to complete the tests before the weekend so the blood sat untested until the following week which caused the phosphorus levels to be super high. Not happy that they didn’t let the vet know this but soooo happy my bunnies are ok!

What a world we live in, ridiculous. So thankful that they are all fine. I have a few choice words that I would like to be using in reference to all of that. It should have definitely been disclosed. Irresponsible. I could go on and on but just thankful that new bloodwork was done and everything is fine. Happy turn of events.

Really glad it turns out everybun is fine but geeeez, JR! Talk about unnecessary stress for you AND the bunnies.
I hope the vet had a word with manager of the lab. I wonder how many times that has happened.
