This is it!! Tomorrow Molly finally gets spayed!! I’m nervous but also so happy to finally get this over with! I hope everything goes well and that she heals up quickly and without problems. And then when I move I’m going to try finding a good “hus-bun” for her
I hope the vet doesn’t end up telling me she is a boy…
I mean the pet store checked her but I hope those people knew what they were checking for lmao I never checked her cuz she hates being picked up and idk how to any way. Anyways….wish us luck!! ![]()
Good luck, I had my bunny spayed last week. She was back to normal after 24 hours. I’m sure every recovery is different, but her’s was pretty quick and easy.
At a certain point, it is obvious, even with rabbits. You can’t really miss the testicles. lol. On the other hand, if she is a he then the procedure is just that much easier. Either way, no reproductive parts=a better bunny. So good vibes for an easy spay (neuter?) and fast recovery!
(Good luck vibes)! If she turns out to be a boy tho, the procedure is supposedly easier and less expensive usually so that’s not always a bad thing. Although the name would be awkward
Bunjamin goes to the vet today for his pre-neuter check up (there was talk about making sure he was at his full weight and I want to ask a ton of questions). I’m nervous for that so I feel your nerves for Molly.
*Hugs*
Best of luck for Bunjamin when he gets neutered!!! I’ve been wondering what to name her if she is a he…lol My sister had a female bunny before, and I used to have a boy bunny before, and based on that (I know all bunnies are different) but she acts a lot more like the girl bunny. But no matter what gender I will love her all the same!!
And KytKattin…I honestly never checked for testicles…We did clip her nails and had to hold her and her underside was exposed and I didn’t see (not did I really look for that matter) any testicles. I heard some bunnies are late developers tho…I’m pretty confident she’s a girl tho ![]()
I agree though, you’d most likely have seen the testicles. I thought bunjamin was a girl for a month or so because of his age when I got him but when the vet tech showed us the testicles I was like, “when did those get there?!” because they were like boom in your face overnight. haha
LMAO FrankieFlash that made me laugh so hard! “boom in your face overnight” haha
always here to amuse
And I was thinking about it and maybe we shouldn’t go into this surgery thing nervous. Maybe we should go into it excited that our hormonal young buns will finally (about a month after the surgery) calm down and hopefully become respectful bunizens. (that was suppose to be a play on citizens but I’m not sure it really works)
I agree we should be happy and positive and we really are doing the best thing for them
And bunizens was cute!! ![]()
Good luck! And yeah, Zeus was very obviously an intact male.. but he was also an adult, so that might’ve been the difference.
FrankieFlash: You always manage to make us laugh!
lol
Vibes to Ms. Molly.

Vibes for Molly!!
@FrankieFlash, Tait was like that to. They just appeared and I swear I checked him days prior and nothing ![]()
So I dropped her off at 7 this morning..I felt like such an over protective mom I gave the vets her hay, pellets, fresh greens, and some craisins too even tho they said they would have everything she would need there lol I guess I just felt better knowing they woudl offer her the food she gets everyday and not something new that she might not like. The vets seemed real nice tho and didn’t mind at all me bringing in her own food, and even asked if she drinks water from a bottle or a bowl, which is something I didn’t even think to mention! Its a good thing they asked, cuz she will not drink from a bottle. Hoping to get a phone call this afternoon that everything went smoothly, then I pick her up around 7 tonight. Yayyyyy!! All this morning I kept turning to her pen to talk to her and realized she wasn’t there ![]()
Vet called…Molly was awake and active and moving around this afternoon after surgery. Everything went great! I get to bring her home in a couple hours! Thank goodness this spay is over its such a relief! ![]()
That’s great news! (easy and fast recovery vibes for molly!)
Wonderful! Make sure to spoil her lots during her recovery.
Oh I plan on spoiling her (as if she wasn’t already) lol she drank and ate a little last night and has peed and pooped a little bit, so that must be good!! For the most part she has laid under my nightstand all night and didn’t move. But she hoped around a little bit. So glad this going so well! ![]()
Sorry about all those typos I just woke up :/ lol
