This morning Inkblot was pooping up a storm like normal but she was still hiccuping so I took her in.  I’m waiting in the waiting room and she’s hiccuping but not as much.  She spends most of her time eating some hay and digging at her towel.  Finally we get to see the doctor and she’s sqirming around but no hiccups.  Doctor is watching and watching and nothing!  I was standing there going “man Inkblot now she thinks I’m crazy”.  She decides to sit down and start crunching away on her hay.  She took her in the back to look in her mouth and stuff but they didn’t see anything out of the ordinary.

So the prognosis was that they’re surprised she’s still eating and jumping around and whatever hiccup thing isn’t from her twitching in pain.  She flinches a little if you touch the mass on the bad eye but it could be a little more tender or something since she hit it and it bled a little bit this past weekend.  The eye mass doesn’t seem to be getting as big as quick but the cancer might have spread because she’s got some kinda small mass on her belly area.  Don’t really know what it is.

I still think the vet thinks I’m nuts.

He may think you are nuts but he also probably thinks you are a concerned owner too.

Trust me Miyuki, I have teched for about 20 years and I can tell you, you are not the only one to have this happen!!!!! Just yesterday a client with a dog with a healing ulcer called allfrantic because he would not open his bad eye and it seemed more goopy (technical term – I know!!). We told her to come right in, fearing the worst. About 1/2 hour later she is getting dragged in by the 15 lb dog whose eye are wide open, as clean as can be, and wagging his tail!!!!!!!!

We like to tell owners that their pets like us sooooooo much they just did it so they could come visit!!!!!!!!

Aww, poor Inkblot. You take such good care of her!

Your story reminds me of taking a car to the mechanic- when you get there, it’s not acting up anymore!

Glad she was doing well at her vet visit today.

              Her poor eye

I’m so happy to here she’s doing okay now… even if your vet does think you’re crazy! ;o)

I agree with LilysMama… you take very good care of sweet little Inkblot! She’s lucky to have you!

Trust me the vet would rather see a concerned owner than an owner that thinks their dog might be limping- and the leg is clearly broken- and they are unsure when or how it happened.  Awesome owners are better than indifferent owners any day of the week!

This sounds like all my visits with Mimzy trying to determine what was wrong with his nose. He would sneeze like cray at home, then I’d take him to the vet…nothing. I’d gone back two or three times before switching to my new vet and getting a decent culture. It was all very frustrating.
Well, if Inkblot did have hiccups…it’s supposed to be helpful to scare them out of the patient…perhaps the idea of being at the vet was unsettling enough that she was cured! ^_^

I do hope the mass above her eye heals well. I would imagine if she hit it pretty hard it would be a little sore. Hugs to you both! (((((hugs))))
