        Hi everyone!

My Rabbit Hiro has been off his food all night and has pretty much sat in the same position the whole time. I suspect that it is Statis from everything that I have read. He has been drinking and he has had the odd strand of hay and the odd bit of parsley and plantain but he is pretty much turning his nose up at food and he’s usually super greedy.
He’s just got up to go to his litter tray and I went and checked it for poop because I haven’t seen any all night and I found a string of poops covered in yellow mucas. I’ve taken a photo. Can anyone help me??? I can’t get him to the emergency vets until 5am (UK time! Another hour or so ) when my boyfriend finishes work because I don’t drive

Just keep offering as much food as you can till you can get him to the vet. Take the poop, they might want a sample.

mucus = inflammation or irritation of the intestinal lining

There are many things that can cause this, so best to check with the vet to rule out anything serious. If your bunny is eating and drinking and active, then I think you’re fine waiting an hour. But do get him in as soon as you can and keep the poop for the vet, as Eepster suggested.

I’d visit the vet as soon as you can get him there. For now keep a close eye on him, if it is some kind of blockage his tummy may feel doughy/ tender. Feel it very gently if your bunny will let you. Its important to let him stay where he is, trying to move him ( with the exception of going to the vet) will put your bunny in alot of pain. Avoid picking him up to put him in a carrier if possible. When Blue got sick he was the same ( minus the dropping situation) rabbits tend to be extremely stand off ish when they aren’t feeling well, even if he does start eating again I’d still take him to the vet just to make sure everything is okay! Better to be safe than sorry!! Sending good vibes from my bunnies to yours c:

                Thank you for replying. We

Thank you for replying. We have taken him to the emergency vets and they gave him a good look over. His pulse, breathing and temperature are all ok. They listened to his tummy and his chest and they were fine too. The vet also had a good feel around and couldn’t feel any blockages so she gave him a jab to get things moving and a painkiller. Hopefully that will sort him out but if not we will be back at the vets tomorrow x
