I’m not up to do date on his condition, but I know that you’ve had troubles getting him to the vet for care in the past. If the condition he has is incurable, don’t you think it would be best to surrender him to someone who will be able to afford his constant need for veterinary intervention? I’m trying to say this as respectfully as I can, but it just seems kind of selfish to me to keep a rabbit with this diagnosis when you are not financially capable of meeting his needs. He should be with someone who can provide him with the necessary vet visits and treatments, regardless of the cost.
Why will he be put down if he doesn’t gain weight? If he still has quality to his life (enjoys his treats and seeks interaction) then why is euthanasia being discussed as the only alternative this early in his disease? Maybe I am misinformed because I’m not up to date on what’s happened, I just know that you had a rabbit recently diagnosed with an incurable illness. You say he is doing better and then say that if he isn’t well off by next visit he will be put to sleep. Again, I might be missing some info here. But it sounds like Benjamin is in a bad situation and more could be done than just euthanizing him.
